ParticipantI like that idea/theory personally and it would make sense if TLK broke both curses at the end of this episode and Snow goes into labor next episode as expected based on pics

ParticipantMaybe Philora told Zelena *everyone* that came back so she knew Hook was once with them? Or maybe she is using Rumple’s powers to somewhat see the future?

ParticipantMaybe we will get a sneak today! 🙂

ParticipantWell we know from filming pics that he filmed for the finale so IF something happened to him (which I personally feel is unlikely) it wouldn’t be until the final episode.
“Hook has a large part to play in this next episode, but wasn’t even in the promo. With no spoilers, and things being seemingly quiet, I’m getting creeped out!”
I personally don’t think Hook is going to have a lot of screen time this episode assuming the Hook casting the curse theory is incorrect. He was in the promo briefly when the monkey is coming for Henry. Based on promo/PR I think this is going to be a very full episode that is going to focus more on the past than the present since they have a lot to cover. I DO think though whatever screen time Hook has is going to be VERY important to the story. Overall I wouldn’t worry. Hook seems to be a network favorite and I doubt they would do all this buildup with Emma opening up and all these interviews about Hook/Emma if they were just going to crash it all down with his death. I guess you never know though. A lot of Neal fans seemed to be blindsided.

ParticipantI agree with a lot of what ellemo78 said. I think the Hook/JR theory is an interesting (and possible) theory but I have a couple of issues with it…
1. Hook is not magical whatsoever and the original curse was ripped up. Since Rumple was presumably unavailable to “re-write” it I would assume Regina had to have been involved. It is essentially curse 1.0 light version and everything seemed to go back to be just as it was before she had to rip it up and take them back to EF excepting the 1 year memory loss. 2. If Hook cast the curse I would presume that the others would have to be involved someway per #1. I really don’t see him just casting this curse all on his own without help from Regina. So if that is the case why all the secrets? If something went wrong and they lost their memories as a “price” or that was anticipated why not just say something like “Only Emma is strong enough to beat Zelena so we had to re-cast the curse to get back to Emma and I was the one that had to do it.” 3. It would mean he flat out lied to Emma regarding not knowing who cast the curse. /bad form
All that being said it wouldn’t be the first time “conveniences” were written in the episode for plot. Regina conveniently being able to protect her heart from controlling her when that was never previously discussed is just a recent example of that. I honestly don’t want him to cast it though mostly because that means he lied to Emma.
I am super bad at theorizing but here is my guess:
Aurora reveals Zelena’s intention to get Snowing’s baby. They seek help from Glinda who tells them she can’t help and that only the powers of True Love (Emma) are strong enough to defeat Zelena. They go back to Regina with this information and decide that they need to get back to Storybrooke and find a way to re-cast the curse. Regina sacrifices the heart of the only thing she loves *in EF* which is Cora’s heart (it was pointed out that her coffin was in the castle in a previous episode). She is obviously already dead so it is a convenient loophole where a heart can be crushed but nobody is killed (b/c who is missing?) Maybe since Regina didn’t really pay a price for casting the curse they all lose their memories from the last year. Before casting the curse they need to find a way to get Emma back (and her memories). Regina makes a memory potion but can only get enough ingredients for one because it is difficult to make. They can’t have Neal go on the quest because he is either missing (or they think he is dead if Belle is able to get back to them). That leaves Hook. Snow sends her bird with the potion and a letter. Now that Hook has a memory potion (which he has been searching for) Hook uses the JR in some fashion (Lake Nostos, trade, portal, etc) to get back to Emma. Regina casts the curse and Zelena avoids it using her slippers OR she sabotages it somehow so they lose their memories but she keeps hers. I dunno. In present day Zelena captures Henry and tells Hook he needs to kiss Emma or Henry dies. Angst ensues and Hook is now in guilty turmoil and confesses all that he sacrificed to get to her and now regrets it because the Henry situation is all his fault. Emma realizes just how powerful her feelings are for Hook (and how powerful her magic is) so she kisses Hook. They have TLK which breaks Hook’s curse and everyone’s memories curse. Angry that her plan failed Zelena monkifies Henry.
So I am sure I am 100000% wrong but it is fun to speculate 🙂 Maybe I will get one thing right haha.

ParticipantAnybody going to cheat and read all the spoilers from the Wondercon screening on Saturday?
Absolutely. This isn’t an ep I wanna go into blind. If there’s an explanation that’ll take the edge off THAT scene, I wanna know about it ASAP.
Lol yeah that is why I think I am going to spoil it for myself. It will make the episode easier to watch.

ParticipantSo that means that Cora really is royalty at that point and is married to Prince Henry.
Yes, I’m pretty positive that these scenes are AFTER Cora has already married into Henry’s family. Just look at Rose’s posture, and the way she’s dressed, and the hair. All of that screams of a Cora who has been a royal for a little while by now IMO. She didn’t look like that when she was all dressed up at the ball in Miller’s Daughter. She’s carrying herself like Barbara Hershey in these pics. The version of Cora we’ve seen Barbara play. And that version of Cora didn’t exist before she married Henry.
Those are good points. Perhaps I am making a big assumption that she is pregnant in the scene with Leo and Ava. Maybe she meets Leo even before this while she is pregnant with Jonathan’s baby and all of that falls through and then it flashes forward to after she has married Henry to this scene with Ava and Leo (their wedding?). Doesn’t explain the Leo/Cora kiss but the flashbacks in this episode could span years not just necessarily the 9 months of pregnancy.
Cora did manage to get that fancy dress and pretend to belong at the ball for Henry in the Miller’s Daughter. I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t the first time and she is doing it in that Leo/Ava scene. I need to watch that episode again.
I still don’t think Leo is the father or maybe I just am really really hoping he isn’t. I am generally accepting of the crazy family tree but I think Cora forcing her daughter to marry her half-sister’s father would just be too much for me. It is bad enough that Cora has apparently kissed the man that she forced Regina to marry.
I think we are in for a rough ride this episode lol. Anybody going to cheat and read all the spoilers from the Wondercon screening on Saturday?

ParticipantIf I was a young boy I think I would ask Killian hands down 🙂

ParticipantUgh… no likey. You would think A&E have put Rumbelle fans through enough already.
I don’t think she is forcing him. Rumple is a master manipulator and I could totally see him taking advantage of one of her weaknesses to try to get the dagger back. That could be why she looks so upset afterwards. He fails and tells her off and is hurt that it was a ruse. At least I hope… if she forces him b/c of the dagger that would be all sorts of messed up….
Definitely looks like she is getting Regina’s heart this episode though my guess is that it is towards the end. So she can technically control Regina now as well? Also not sure why they flashing back to the sleeping curse scene again?
I don’t think Leo is the papa. Looks to me like Cora sleeps with this Jonathan person and gets pregnant. He betrays her/dies or something and she meets Leo. Ava wants to marry Leo so she frames Cora and Cora is now pregnant and alone. Zelena being a True Love baby is a good hypothesis because it helps to explain how she is so powerful but if that was the case why would she need Emma’s powers gone? TL + the DO should hypothetically be more powerful than TL + Regina?
This episode confuses me lol.

ParticipantOooohh I was reading a CS fic and in it Hook thought about how TLK is supposed to break any curse but how he tried TLK once before and it didn’t work. Do you think that will come up at all in the actual show? I think it would be good to revisit that and maybe the Charmings tell him it doesn’t work when memories are lost. There hasn’t been any mention of it at all about him trying TLK despite the fact that Emma would obviously remember that he tried.
I hope they do revisit it because that failed TLK has been such a bone of contention in the fandom to the point that I’m still seeing comments on FB and tumblr on how it’s been proven that Hook and Emma are not TL. I want it cleared up once and for all so its not shoved back in our faces when anyone brings up Neal.
Yes, this was why I was thinking. It bugs me that some people have selective memory with regards to TLK and memory loss. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ignored it in the show though because there are a number of things they never address that they probably should. I suppose it won’t matter if its discussed if we get a confirmed TLK.
Emma holding Killian’s wrist in the promo! Would have been better w/o the hook contraption covering it but I think it could still be meaningful that she happens to be on that side specifically. I wouldn’t be surprised if Regina tells them they all have to hold hands and Killian/Emma have one of their unspoken convos… or it could be nothing. My track record with theories is pretty bad lol
