Wow this board is moving at lightning speed pace!!! @_@ Wait up guys!!!
Some of my thoughts on current matters, sorry if it’s repeated. Seen the sneak peek. Though I really question how people think it’s a pro-CS scene, because, the first thing Emma blurts out is about Neal. The second sneak peek, Emma mentions she moved From Boston because there was a FIRE in her apartment (aka reference to Baelfire, like in season 1 FIREman ref), so she moved to NEW YORK to get a fresh start (aka Neal’s home), there’s just too many throwbacks towards Neal to just cut him off mid-way through 3B. I’m happy that they’ve gone to such lengths to keep Neal’s character tied to the story in some form. Hook and Emma can’t have a serious conversation that doesn’t involve Neal, whether directly referring to him or using some Neal/SF symbol. This just cements my thoughts that SF isn’t dead in the water this season, which is why CSers are clamoring for Neal’s death so that he is not hanging in the background anymore, because no matter what realm they’re in and if Emma has cursed memories or not, Neal will be mentioned. Even if supposedly Emma and Neal don’t get back together, Neal will always be in the background because of Henry. Death would be too convenient of a card to play and I suspect A&E will want to drag this on as much as possible to keep the tension of the “Will they, won’t they scenario”, which is another reason why I can’t see Neal dying this season. As much as people hate to admit it, it’s a popular plotline in the fandom, even if it’s a secondary plotline.
Like others said before, Emma is looking for a man that can be a good father figure to Henry as her #1 priority, which speaks volumes since it’s hard to deny Neal has been a great father to Henry in season 2 and GUESS WHAT, he’s Henry’s actual father. Cursed Emma doesn’t know that but after she gets her memories back she will remember how Neal crossed realms to find them in NL and I’m sure he’s still doing that in EF.
I’m really excited for a team Neal/Belle adventure. But I’m being cautiously optimistic. Hopefully they can explore Neal and Belle’s character further without the extension of Rumple being strapped to them and give them some much needed character development.
I love Neal, but I’m not blinded to the fact that he’s been seriously underdeveloped for the casual viewer. He needs more personal interaction with other characters, and it looks like we’re getting it with the Charmings and Belle! YAY! [/spoilers] My hope is that the more they show Neal’s inner psyche on his dilemma in getting back to Emma the more it will win the audiences hearts. I’ve noticed that many people had a bad initial impression of Neal in Tallahassee but have had their opinions changed of him in Manhattan and Nasty Habits which featured him prominently and his personal issues.Strange as it seems the more I read the articles the more I feel optimistic about things. Why? Because it I see it as the typical heroes journey. The hero that has absolutely everything taken away from them and brought so low that the only way to go is climb back up again. That’s Neal’s journey. Just like how Emma started in Season 1. She had nothing but slowly started to climb her way up to her son and finding her parents. Neal is also on his journey towards his son and finding his father. And the last climb for Neal and Emma will be to find their HOME, they’re way back to each other.

[adrotate group="5"]Sneaking on the forums right now from work…Like everyone I was excited to see the 3rd panel and like everyone again I was wholly disappointed that they didn’t include Neal, Belle, and shockingly Henry, who was always front and center with Emma.
It’s sad that I was not totally surprised at the lack of Neal. I had my doubts that they would really feature him because I realize the huge bias that the ABC promo has against Neal (evidence of always the lack of promos of him in every corner) But I was a bit surprised that they left off Belle and Henry as well, who are usually featured with the rest most of the time. What gives?
But I trust ABC’s promos as far as I can throw them. Remember that they do not dictate how the story will go. They hyped up Hook as the big bad villain in season 2 (when it was really Cora) They had a big clip featuring Ariel (She was only in 2 episodes and quietly disappeared) but Tink had more screen time then her.
Their primary job is to try and grab new viewers into watching the show, not to appease the small group of internet fandom. But I have to say that it’s a double edge sword because you can’t piss off the fan-base as well, they want to come back and watch too.
Excellent point! Cursed David went to the toll bridge, which was really the troll bridge where he and Snow found true love. Cursed Emma being in NYC because that’s where Neal’s home is totally makes sense! Thank you for that lovely reminder. 🙂
Exactly. There have been instances with the curse in season 1 that David and MM both had strange deja-vu moments that remind them of their True Love. And they were inevitably pulled towards each other even with their cursed-self. And all the symbolism we’ve seen thus far post cursed Emma is SF related. Even on a subconscious level Emma still thinks of Neal. Neal and Emma are True Love.

Whew! What a long day of work! Just got caught up with the threads here. Man oh man, I can’t wait for this hiatus to be over!!! It’s fried my nerves so much, I think I may have scars for life. This may be the worse hiatus I’ve experienced. I don’t believe in the doom and gloom of you-know-what to you-know-who, but it’s annoying that EVERYONE ELSE TELLS ME TO BELIEVE IT. Spoilers, the media, tumblr, etc… blah! Sorry I don’t mean to be a debbie downer, it’s just one of those days. I think I am truly over this hiatus. As always all of your SF posts warms my heart, and eases the pain. 🙂 And some things popped into my brain that I wanna write it down before I forget…
I still believe in my gut that deep down Emma still wants to be with Neal. Even on a subconscious level. We get a lot symbolism of Swanfire in the end of 3×11. Between Emma choosing to live in New York rather than Boston and having Charlie’s Girl song playing as she wakes up, (the very song that Neal plays in the opening of 2×01) plus we’ll see the dreamcatcher again in 3×12, and not to mention the recent pics of Emma wearing a second necklace that strongly implies she’s got the swan keychain back it’s clear that Emma will always have an attachment to Neal.
I think their love for each other is strong enough that it transcends even with a memory wiped version of Emma. Maybe in her subconscious mind, the experiences with Neal in NY creates a desire to stay in New York with her son. Just like a memory wiped David in season 1 woke up from his coma and immediately sought out the thing that tied him and Snow together which was them meeting for the first time in the forest, so his subconscious brought him back to the woods after his cursed self woke up. Emma saw Neal again for the first time in 10 years in New York, so subconsciously her mind took her there.
Also like everyone said Hook has been getting an easy go at things with Emma and Henry. I don’t believe Hook would do anything that would potentially harm Emma but I wouldn’t put it past him to do something shady to EVERYONE ELSE. He is Hook after all. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, there’s just something that’s off with him being able to get to our world and not anybody else. And we can’t forget the fact that he is a villain. Yes, we’ve seen him help Emma rescue Henry and David but he hasn’t truly gone through the test of redemption on the level that Regina and Rumple has. And we must remember that Regina and Rumple both had relapses in turning evil again. Regina was so desperate to get Henry back so she turned to magic again and allied herself with Cora, trying to kill Emma and the Charmings. And Rumple turned dark again so he can have Belle/Lacey beside him and almost killed Henry just to preserve his own life. So Hook’s test of redemption is upcoming. I won’t be surprised that A&E will make Hook go through what Regina and Rumple went through. Hook may be sooo desperate to get Emma by his side that he might just ally with WW, because she can promise him a true happily ever after with Emma. One that Pan couldn’t give. WW doesn’t particularly have a beef with Emma and Henry (as far as we know) so Hook can sail off into the sunset with them. In the case of Pan, he basically wanted Henry which Emma will never allow so Hook knows Emma would never forgive him if they left Henry behind in NL. We’ll just have to wait and see won’t we…

Could it be the second necklace is the swan necklace??? *Gasp* It has to be!!!! I’m not sure how she gets it, but if it is the swan keychain, I like to think that she puts it back on because she still hasn’t given up on Neal….

To this day, I still don’t get how they can kill him off at this point. A&E would contradict they whole aspect of love, family, faith belief, and more importantly HOPE. Neal embodies a lot of those things that they’ve been preaching since season 1. True Love w/ Emma. Family with Rumple and Henry. Faith and belief in seeing the good in ALL people. Hope for a second chance at all those things.
I’m mean his character has gone through 300 years of misery. And to have a character go through that, and not get a resolution, and not even get a wrapped up storyline (as I don’t believe they can wrap everything up in 3B, I mean come on.) That would totally take what they’ve said about having hope, faith, love and family and throw it back in the audiences faces. If Neal’s character can’t get a happy ending, who can??? So I’m still standing by my reason that he’s not going to bite the dust. And the *ahem* opposition is twiddling their thumbs nervously, in light of the recent pics. I have faith that Nealfire’s character is a top secret storyline. To spill it would be the spill the whole plot on 3B, which strangely we don’t have a clue what it’s about or what direction it will take. Do we???

OMG! I just got home and checked my Tumblr and lo and behold, there was the glorious pic of MRJ in a new EF costume? !
I think I need someone to hold me right now. *Squee!* Because for 3 months I’ve felt like SFers have been through some sort of battlefield and then some sort of mourning period just like Emma has in the beginning of 3A and then wham bam! They sucker punch us with some hope of Nealfire! that he’s still relevant to OUAT and that he’s still in the game YES!!!!
I also find it funny that I posted something about hope just two days before we got MRJ’s tweet. Since I had no idea we would get these pics. I just always believed that there was a light at the end of the tunnel however dim it is:
