I like the idea that Neal knows Barrett, but if so and if Barrett is in fact a fairytale character than I wonder what the story is there, also I still think Neal and August talked more than the two conversations we saw them have because of the events in The Return, 1×19, and they still may be on talking terms being that Neal as well as August are both M.I.A. at the moment and seem to continue to be that way through this episode,

AntBee: I haven’t be able to find anything confirming Neal having nightmares besides the fact that he has a dream catcher which many people do even without nightmares, and also haven’t found the pic of him running away on the photos of Manhattan. Could you post a link here so I can find them. I would be very grateful.

Final thought being if we do not know the topic of the “Flashbacks” for Manhattan my bet could be it could be Bae or Neal or even Emma centric because in episodes that have had “Flashbacks”, (which only two have not been Broken, 2×01, and Into the Deep, 2×08), the title has some connection and right now they are only plausible options other than Barrett.

EQ- Good idea, except for the fact in The Stranger, 1×20, Gepetto stated to Jiminy that his debt to him would never be fulfilled. I could be wrong, but I say that was probably based on what Jiminy did to his parents, and that was before the curse

I have a theory of how he can still be alive but its not really a good one,
there was a form about how when Cora got to Storybrooke she would impersonate someone, so it could be her just looking like Archie pretending to be dead, while Archie may be actually dead or somewhere else, which is kind of what she did with Lancelot, I have no clue on why she would do that, maybe to blame Regina, but then why not just kill him in the first place.

Also maybe it is Archie but he is not in fact dead, if you can take someone heart and use their dead, decaying body as a zombie, and if you can put words into peoples mouths, and you can make them do actions like close a door, even without them knowing it, can you potentially make them look dead by using their heart.

Last idea is that he is under some kind of curse because in Snow’s and Henry’s case with the sleeping curse, both were said to be dead, by not breathing and machines not restricting life, but yet they are walking strong. He could be under a sleeping curse.

All of these ideas reuse things they’ve done in the past, multiple times, so I kind of hope I’m wrong, but by these or other means I’m still rooting for him to live.
