ModeratorAlso, does anyone else feel like this episode might be a giant waste of time?
Feels like they were required to give Zelena at least one centric for the Season, so they’re doing it here. I guess it could at least serve as character development for her?

ModeratorQuantico dropped to a 0.5 in the final Monday ratings for last night. Dancing with the Stars boosted up to a 1.8 with the help of Disney Night, and instead of benefiting from that, Quantico further declined. Ouch! Finding it harder and harder to believe ABC will renew it.

ModeratorWhy are they having a wedding with all this going on anyway. I’m guessing next episode will have them think they defeated BF only to have her pop back up
Just thought of something that would rationalize why Emma would get married so soon after only just getting engaged. With the Final Battle approaching and it being a literal life or death scenario, Emma could want to get married before anything possibly happens to her. In a normal situation you would of course take your time with your engagement period prior to the wedding itself, but to Emma that is time she just might not have the luxury of having.

ModeratorIn other news, the poster is fine. I wish it had something more definitely Emma, though.
I saw a suggestion that they could have had a swan on the left side of the hook, in a pose that would form the two together into a heart. I think that would have looked better.

ModeratorNot what I would have guessed for the musical episode but i keep forgetting the marriage.
Im still excited for this episode. How much I wish we could get some sneak peeks featuring the music!!!!
And if the songs are actually somewhat decent, I’m hoping for a soundtrack!

ModeratorExactly. They are going to end the series the same way it started. And then they’ll start OUAT: The Next Generation.
Yes and no. I think the Black Fairy will be dealt with during the Season finale, and won’t continue to be around for Season 7.

ModeratorUnrounded preliminary numbers for last night’s episode, and surprisingly the unroundeds are higher than last week’s. Was not expecting that:
Disneynature special ………… 0.603 … (0.632 … 0.574)
Once Upon a Time …………… 0.731 … (0.754 … 0.708)
Match Game ……………………. 0.617 … (0.590 … 0.644)
American Crime ……………….. 0.406 … (0.425 … 0.387)For comparison, last week was:
AF Home Videos ………………… 0.703 … (0.595 … 0.810)
Once Upon a Time ……………… 0.717 … (0.763 … 0.671)
Match Game ……………………… 0.691 … (0.641 … 0.740)
American Crime …………………. 0.370 … (0.403 … 0.337)April 17, 2017 at 12:49 pm in reply to: ET 4/16 – Stars Spill on the Big Musical Episode Surprise #336324MatthewPaul
ModeratorI guess the wedding happens but the Black Fairy interrupts it and this is where we get some sort of Alt-reality? Or whatever is going on for half the finale.
I already see it being a callback to when Regina interrupted Snow and Charming’s wedding in the Pilot. But this time, it’s the Black Fairy interrupting Emma and Hook’s wedding.

ModeratorSo I guess 0.7 is our floor for the remainder of the Season. If we didn’t fall to a 0.6 on Easter, then I’ll find it hard to believe we’ll drop in the last 4 weeks.

ModeratorI know this does not totally relate to this topic, but did anyone else have a problem with Emma choosing to get Hook back instead of waking her parents from their “permanent” sleep? I mean this whole episode was about Snow realizing she can’t sacrifice everyone else’s happiness for her own and then you have the parallel where Emma chooses her own happiness over her parents. Is this a coincidence, or are the writers trying to say something. I did not think Emma would die at the end of the season but I am starting to think that maybe that is what they are setting up, for Emma to finally choose everyone else’s happiness over her own. What do you think?
I think what they were trying to do was similar to what they did with Ruth in “Lady of the Lake”. Ruth wanted Snow to drink the water to cure her fertility instead of saving her own life:
Ruth: I want you to have it. That last sip of water – I want you to drink it.
Snow White: No. No, I couldn’t.
Ruth: That water can lift your curse. Allow you and my son to have a child.
Snow White: But you’ll die. I won’t let you give your life for this.
Ruth: That’s what parents do. They put their children first. Someday, you’ll understand. However, I guess what makes this situation different is that:
1) Snow and Charming have a baby son that they need to take care of. Ruth didn’t.
2) Emma made the choice and went along with Snow’s plan, while Snow wasn’t willing to go through with Ruth’s plan. Ruth had to pretend to drink the water and have Lancelot secretly give Snow the real water.I think the idea of parents putting their children first in itself is still a good message, but the execution in this scenario left mixed signals.
