otal retcon. Also, if they awoke Rumpel, why didn’t he remember anything until he heard Emma’s name when she arrived? Did he drink the potion too?
I believe Rumple said he was going to drink the potion too, so yeah. I guess Emma still makes him remember again. I will say it was nice to get an actual onscreen confirmation that Emma’s name was what triggered Rumple’s memories, cause prior to that it was only fully confirmed during interviews and only slightly hinted in earlier episodes.
[adrotate group="5"]I think this flashback would have worked a lot better had it been what we theorized: that Snow and Charming would together dream up a “what if” scenario, and it’s their choice with what to do with Emma is what causes them to break the Evil Queen’s failsafe in the sleeping curse. Having it not be an actual retcon flashback would have solved the biggest issue of the episode, and it could have been even more powerful.
I’m assuming they are talking to Gideon, unless Past!Emma was being threatened by someone or something

Though contract negotiations — with only some cast — have gone down to the wire, Once Upon a Time‘s Season 6 finale will provide closure where needed and won’t leave any storylines “incomplete,” the series bosses tell TVLine.
As previously reported, original cast members Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla and Robert Carlyle, as well as longtime series regular Colin O’Donoghue, had been invited to extend their expiring pacts with the fairytale-based drama, while others (including Ginnifer Goodwin and husband Josh Dallas) might only guest-star as needed in any possible Season 7.

This was definitely at the Disney Studios lot in Burbank, so the speculation about Lana filming for the Upfronts sketch grows.

I thought maybe based on that sneak peek that it wouldn’t be a real flashback, but a dream sequence of a “what if” situation between both Snow and Charming. Whatever decision they make in the dream sequence could break the Evil Queen’s failsafe. I’m still hoping for that, but fearing we’ll end up with a big retcon.

So budget cuts could be a factor in OUAT’s favor, which is what the Reaper had been predicting when he first heard about the contract negotiations. If we really are losing a chunk of the current cast, then that would definitely reduce the cost significantly.
Not really-New actor, same character therefore same family member. Then again, have they been filming together a lot? I haven’t kept on top of who is filming and when. If so, then yeah really confusing.
Agreed. I don’t think an aged up version of a preexisting character counts as a new family member.
