Basically confirmation that Zelena has a solo number.

ModeratorSome info about the song writers, Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner. They wrote the Broadway musical First Date, the Disney Cruise ship show Twice Charmed, and they even wrote the songs that Celestina Warbeck sings at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. More info on them here on their website: http://zacharyandweiner.com/about/.

ModeratorSome new info about the musical episode:
“We actually started [planning] this around September,” Kitsis explained to ET over the phone last Friday. “There are these two composers that we met, Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, who are big fans of the show, and ABC put us together with them because a musical is the one thing and the one request that fans have been asking for for six seasons.”
“It’s something we’re very excited about and we’ve been working on for a long time,” Horowitz concurred. “What we’ve also worked really hard to do is make this musical a part of the show, so it’s not just like a one-off episode or it’s not just like a stand-alone [special].”
“It actually is a huge part of the mythology of the show and there are some big things that happen in the episode,” Hororwitz revealed. “Frankly, it’s been one of the challenges of doing the musical because we never wanted to do something where it was just like a to-the-side, one-off thing, and then get back to the main story. We want to see it part of the main story, which meant we had to really plan out this season with some great detail.”
Kitsis added, “And what’s fun about it is it’s the penultimate episode [of season six,] so the musical actually kicks us off into the finale.”

ModeratorRegina is hated by one group from the fandom and it has to do more about shipping wars and less about the character herself.
Not entirely the case. I’ve seen plenty of Regina hate from Snowing fans, even as far back as Seasons 1 and 2. One of the biggest examples I remember was the reaction to when Regina managed to use light magic against Zelena. I myself even knew a fan who really disliked Regina, and they didn’t like Hook any better, so shipping had nothing to do with it. At the end of the day though, both Regina and Hook are polarizing characters, no matter how anyone slices it. We should probably move on from this, as it’s really starting to diverge from the main topic of this thread.

ModeratorSo dumb. Were they afraid she would outshine the rest of the cast and make them look bad?
I’m guessing it’s probably more to do with Aladdin and Jasmine’s story likely being done after 615. Even if it isn’t, it’s looking like the story they have for the musical episode will focus on the core cast and not the guest stars. Although, I believe Karen did say that she was expected to film again in March, so she may still be in the finale. Still a wasted opportunity to not have an actress with a musical background involved.

ModeratorSurprise Sidney is surprising.
And it looks like it’s actual present day Storybrooke Sidney, not FTL flashback Magic Mirror Sidney. Pretty sure we haven’t seen him since 4A.

ModeratorI would love to know who is on set. I’m curious if Bobby is around at all.
Lana and Bex are apparently filming at Regina’s house today for 619. 620 starts filming tomorrow, according to Kat:

ModeratorInteresting that they are filming it all indoors–they obvious don’t want something to get out. Like a wedding.
They also don’t want the songs themselves spoiled, especially if a pap were to attempt recording them. The other thing is that the musical episode is no doubt more technically involved, where filming it all in studio makes more sense on a practical level.

ModeratorSo here’s the big question.
Let’s say we lose 90% of the cast–just Lana and Bex stick around. Would you still watch? Would you just check out the premiere of 7 and then go from there? Or would you say that S6B was the end and move on?
I would honestly watch. I’ve come this far, so I feel it would be far too late to just drop it now. Especially when I couldn’t see this lasting past Season 7. I’m also curious what this reboot would entail. If we were to get an adult Henry, that could be very interesting. There’s also one advantage: if we’re losing a large chunk of the cast, then that would potentially free up time to explore dropped storylines of miscellaneous characters like Lily and her father, Will and Anastasia, etc. One of the biggest flaws of the current show is that the storylines of the main characters are being dragged out (looking at you, Rumple), so that could definitely freshen things up. That being said, I’d rather see the show end with the main storyline wrapped up.

ModeratorIt’s obvious to you and I, to be sure. But I’m not so sure this is obvious to ABC. These are the same people who thought Castle would be *totes okay!* without Stana. I don’t even watch the show and even I knew that would blow up in their faces.
I’m guessing in this case the reboot idea was Adam and Eddy’s, rather than ABC’s. It sounds more like something they would try to pull. I’m not sure how on board ABC really is about this idea.
