I am definitely a fan of seeing princess Emma in an alternate reality, but i think it makes no sense that she would be with Hook in that case, but this show is stupid. Also, how far back in time will things be changed? Will Rumpel still be the dark one? Again, it begs the question of what exactly is the wish that is made? If the wish is that Rumpel never becomes the dark one then that changes everything.
I’m guessing the major change is that Regina decides to meet Robin in the tavern, and she never casts the Dark Curse. Based on set photos and reports we’ve received, I think we’ll see August in this AU, or rather a grown up Pinocchio.

While that’s true, S1 and S2 are miles apart in terms of ratings and ad buys than S6. It was safer to have a messed up schedule because the viewers came back in droves and the ad buyers saw that. But a messed up schedule like that now (with ratings being what they are) isn’t going to help the network. However, there is historical evidence that leaving OUAT off the air for several months and then bringing it back midseason works for the show–steady ratings at the least. Look at the ratings for the back half of any season after we went to splits.
I don’t think this has anything to do with any sort of final season hurrah. I think we’re getting renewed for a S7 in large part because ABC can’t cancel everything even though the numbers for multiple shows would mean the axe only a few years ago.
Not to mention, that scheduling actually didn’t work out for Season 2. We saw significant drops when it had to go up
against the Golden Globes, NFL championship game and the Grammys that year:210 – 3.1
211 – 2.8 (Up against the Golden Globes)
212 – 2.4 (Up against the NFL championship game)
213 – 2.2 (Up against the Grammys)The ratings dropped by almost a full point from 210 to 213. This was a factor that led them to creating the Split-Season scheduling for Season 3. While Season 1 managed to do just fine against those events, that was when the show was considered “much watch TV”. Viewer interest had already started to decline throughout Season 2, so the scheduling didn’t do any favors.
If they indeed return in March, that is odd, now im wondering if this isnt really last season, and they will announce it on January at the TCA`s which gives them time until march to PR the last episodes of the show, together with many cons that several cast members would do and with Bobby going for the 1st time to a fan con( outside SDCC), even tho i think they may have a S7 with 15/16 epis, but now i wonder if the cast doesnt want out, appears there are rumours of several regular cast members looking for other jobs.
I think OUAT still not returning till March this Season has more to do with scheduling than anything else. January has the Golden Globes and the NFL Championship games, while February has the Super Bowl, Grammys and the Oscars. It would have been too much on and off scheduling, and competing with major events.
Looks like OUAT won’t be returning in January, as they’ll be airing the game show To Tell the Truth in its timeslot that month:

Still no Mid-Season return date, but it’s looking more likely that it will indeed be in March.
Which brings me to a nother question. On a podcast I heard the theory that perhabs Evil Queen will take Violets heart and crush it. Like Cora did to Daniel when Regina was young.. They had that thought because of how much Evil Queen reminded of Cora in the scenes with Evil Queen and Henry. How do you guys feel about that? You think it could happen??
I think killing off a kid, or at least someone who is as young as Violet, would be seen as too taboo. While kids have technically been killed on this show before, like when Regina slaughtered that one village, it wasn’t shown directly on screen. It’s been argued that Henry technically died when he flatlinned, but either way he woke up once Emma gave him TLK. True we saw Rumple stab Peter Pan, but it had been revealed that Pan was actually a grown man in a teenager’s body. He even transformed back into Malcolm before dying.
