ModeratorI agree that Season 3 has been really good so far, and could be Gotham’s strongest Season if the trend continues. I don’t think the Mad Hatter’s story is over. He’s still in the promo for next week’s episode, and he’s actually a credited series regular. So I don’t think Hatter is one of those villains they only have for 3-5 episodes, only to get quickly tossed aside.
In other news, FOX released details about their winter schedule, and there are a few interesting things about Gotham. It seems like the first batch of episodes will probably end with the 11th episode at the end of the month. But instead of having one long winter hiatus like last year, we’re instead getting two hiatuses. FOX plans to air more episodes in January, with the winter finale airing on January 30th. Then they will air 24: Legacy in Gotham’s timeslot starting on February 6th, following a special premiere airing after the Super Bowl on February 5th. 24: Legacy will air for 12 episodes, which would mean Gotham returning in late April. This is a pretty odd scheduling choice, to say the least:

ModeratorI think the reason why OUAT is still labeled “a family show”, despite the PG rating, is because PG is so commonly seen as family friendly content in this day and age. Once upon a time (no pun intended), PG actually meant something. Just look at any PG rated films released during the 80s. Now the majority of family films are labeled PG. Even films such as Frozen, Inside Out, Zootopia, Finding Dory, and the upcoming film Moana are rated PG. This video by the Nostalgia Critic goes even more in-depth over this topic:
