ABC announced today that Scandal would be returning on January 19th, along with Grey’s and HTGAWM:

[adrotate group="5"]It’s interesting that they’re doing this AU now–the winter finale. The past few “AU” type of stories have all been two hour finales so easily resolved at the end. It makes me think that the spring part of S6 will still be an AU, only righted by episode 620(ish)
Might even be quicker than that, if they’re going about doing shorter storylines sprinkled throughout the Season. It could be like Season 2, where the Cora in Storybrooke stuff was resolved within 210-216. So maybe this AU starts in 610, and ends around 614-616?
I actually have a far-fetched theory that the shears have to be used willingly – i.e. you can only use them to cut away your Sav-estiny, which is why Jafar gave them to Aladdin, instead of, you know, just waiting for him to fall asleep. So Belle would have to want to cut away her destiny, and I think that if she discovered this “romance,” she would be pretty motivated to do so.
This is a good point, because otherwise, wouldn’t Jafar have just used to shears on Aladdin himself?

So either Adam doesn’t know the return date himself, or he’s not allowed to comment until ABC makes it official? It’s also a possibility that ABC is still sorting out their Winter/Spring schedule, and haven’t finalized things just yet.
On another note, January 15th would be a rather odd return date, if IMDB is listing the correct date.
My main question is if we’ll possibly explore the the “Take Back the Kingdom” battle that we only briefly got the tail end of in “The Cricket Game”? We Snow and Charming capture Regina, and we’re told that King George is defeated. However, I always felt like that opened the door for them to actually show how they defeated him as a flashback of its own.
