ModeratorAs the article stated, these are only predictions, so this particular prediction may not be based on any inside information at all. In fact, they mentioned that they only got 30% of their predictions correct for last Season. So for the time being, I’m treating it as just a prediction, and nothing concrete. This isn’t one of their Blind Item articles.
In the event that somebody is written off, though, it’s hard to say for sure. Rumple seems like the safest bet, but permanently writing him off the show has been a common theory since Season 4, so I still think it could go either way. There was a rumor awhile back that Bobby was only willing to do one more Season, but who knows how true that is. I also don’t see it being Zelena for the reasons stated above. Not to mention that Zelena now has a baby, and she is the baby’s only living parent as a result of Robin’s death. I guess if they wanted to they could kill Zelena off, and have Regina raise the baby. I’m not sure how I’d feel about that, though.

ModeratorIs that Aladdin/Jafar clip actually part of the show? Is that known?
It was confirmed that it’s the opening scene of the premiere, actually:
At the close of Once‘s panel, cocreators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis gave the audience one more treat — in the form of the first three minutes from the Sunday, Sept. 25 season premiere.

I even recall Adam and Eddy specifying that, in one of the filmed videos of the panel.
They have shown real episode clips at San Diego Comic Con before, actually. At Comic Con 2014, they showed two clips from 401: one clip was the scene of Anna and Elsa at their parents grave, while the other was Regina releasing Sidney from his cell. The reason they don’t normally get to show actual episode clips at Comic Con, is because normally they only started filming a few days before. Comic Con was at a later date this year and in 2014, so they had actual episode footage ready to show.

They normally watch dailies of recent footage, so this fits in with Blue returning in the current episode that they’re filming.

ModeratorWould that not produce a de-facto mid-season split/reboot, since they will need a new villain next half arc? I thought they didn’t want to do that? Ugh, I just hope we’re not going to get another 1/2 season of “oh, we need to kill some time until the next big bad, lets have Rumple muck things up for everyone” plot zombie.
I think Jafar/Aladdin plot comes back into play post-split personality story.
I would guess the Land of Untold Stories is the main thread of the Season as a whole.
I don’t think they need a new big bad. That is the problem with the split season. There shouldn’t be a big bad. There should be a plot, but not just oh we need to defeat this villain. The plot should just be what would the characters do next given what has happened to them, not how can they defeat this person or escape this realm. They need to quit dangling an obvious conclusion out in the future and leave the future open and unknown. It is hard, but writing should make perfect sense and yet not be completely obvious. I am not convinced the writers are good enough to do it though, so they might just introduce a new big bad.
Like i have said before, if it was up to me Hyde and Jekyll would go out by 603 and the Evil Queen would be reintegrated with Regina by 607 or 8.
At this point, I can’t see them abandoning the idea of always having some sort of antagonist. Even Seasons 1 and 2 had big bads. We had the Regina/Evil Queen as the primary villain for Season 1, while Cora was the primary villain for the majority of Season 2.
