Wait this is actually interesting! Hook could, like, give boating lessons or BOAT TOURS!!!!! Or be a fishermen. What does Hook even do all day?
I recall they joked back during the Season 2 days that if Hook had been cursed in Season 1, he would have been a sushi chef.
[adrotate group="5"]I think the idea of there being multiple saviors actually makes sense. In the real world, haven’t there been many different saviors that were thought to have existed throughout history, depending upon various religious beliefs and whatnot? Jesus is the obvious one that comes to mind, but there’s also Muhammad, Buddha, Prometheus, Osiris, Thor, and countless others. So Emma not being the only savior ever doesn’t sound so far-fetched.
Jasmine is gonna get the OUAT twist. She’ll be evil, with a tragic backstory. She is probably the genie or took the genies place. Might be Jafars lover or long lost sister. Something is up.
I sure hope they don’t go that route. Making an iconic Disney princess a villain would just seem so wrong. Especially one played by Karen David. This gives me hope that they won’t, though:
Does Aladdin and Jasmine’s love story remain true? Is that part of the arc, or is it more about just putting those characters into Storybrooke?
Kitsis: I would say that it’s a little of everything. I think that their love story is such a central part of their story that we want to honor that. I think that we’re going to open up a new avenue for Aladdin and Jasmine in our little cul-de-sac.
Horowitz: In the Comic-Con footage, what we didn’t show was anything with Jasmine. That’s something we’re really excited about. The way we introduce her, we want to keep a surprise for now. When we do find her, she is a strong character with an agenda all her own, that we hope makes her another super strong, empowered Disney princess on this show that is going to be special in her own way. We loved the character in the movie and we were super excited to find something fun for her to be doing. That’s one of the surprises we’re excited to unveil this season.
Honoring the love story and keeping Jasmine a super strong, empowered character Disney princess doesn’t really scream “we’re making her evil”. I think when they say she has an agenda, she has her own motivations separate from Aladdin. That could mean anything.
On another note, it looks like they’re steering away from showing the Genie. Likely out of respect for Robin Williams.
Kitsis: Obviously, I don’t think we would touch the genie. I would like to see a monkey but I can’t promise anything. I think, whereas some stories, like Frozen, we were very faithful to Frozen, I think you will see Aladdin will have its own Once twist.
Does this mean A&E aren’t sticking with the Jafar they created for OUAT in Wonderland? He was definitely “a really dark and evil character” considering he tried to drown his own son.
Jafar didn’t try to drown his own son. He doesn’t have one, at least none that have been confirmed. It was his father, the Sultan, that tried to drown him.
