So impressed with @LanaParrilla âs work as a director. We had some intense scenes and she guided us like an absolute pro. Gonna be such a great episode! https://t.co/xHt6IqNChi

ModeratorIs this all a nightmare of Henryâs?
KITSIS: That is not happening. If someone thinks theyâre going to wake up, and Henryâs going to say that was a nightmare, and weâre going to have the original cast back, thatâs not realistic, and life doesnât work that way. This answer in particular sounds like a passive aggressive response aimed towards certain infamous Season 7 anti-fans.

ModeratorChanning Dungey’s comments on OUAT at TCA today:
“Turning to Once Upon a Time, which just entered its annual midseason hiatus, Dungey says the low âliveâ numbers (Season 7 is averaging 2.5 million viewers and a 0.5 rating) arenât painting a full picture of the showâs loyal audience, seeing as delayed viewingâ which last season averaged around 55 percent, now is in the triple digits.
âSo the actual fan base [measured by total audience] really hasnât shifted very much. Itâs more that theyâve been watching it more time-shifted since weâve been on Friday,â she noted. As for the prospect of renewal, she is waiting to hear the Season 8 plan from co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.”

âI would say Iâm cautiously optimistic,â ABC boss Channing Dungey told reporters at the Television Critics Associationâs winter press tour Monday. âItâs always hard at this point in January to know because some of it is also dependent on your new development and how you feel about those things, so thatâs why itâs really hard at the top of the year to know exactly whatâs going to happen.â
In its rebooted seventh season, Once Upon a Time has been averaging 3.7 million total viewers and a 1.1 in the 18-49 demographic season to date. âThe thing about Once Upon a Time is that the ratings have been a little bit lower on Friday than they were on Sunday, but our delayed viewing, which we were averaging a bump of about 55 percent, this year has been into triple digits, so the actual fanbase really hasnât shifted very much,â Dungey says. âItâs more that theyâve been watching it more time-shifted since weâve been on Friday.â
Dungey notes that a potential season 8 would also depend on the creative, which she has not yet heard. âEddy [Kitsis] and Adam [Horowitz] are going to be coming in shortly to talk with us about what they would want to be doing if they had another season, so I canât really say until weâve had that conversation,â Dungey said.

So it sounds like they’re being vague about it, and we probably really will have to wait until May. So much for a “Final Season” announcement.
MatthewPaul
ModeratorIf ABC doesnât announce a cancellation at the TCAâs weâll have to track some of the actors like Lana and Colinâif they appear to be going out for Pilot season (which is now beginning) well have our answer that way. The hard part will be telling if they are in LA to visit or to read scripts for pilots.
Even if ABC is on the fence about a possible Season 8, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least the veteran cast members pass on the opportunity to resign back on. They must realize that the show’s days are numbered, and they’ll have to look for new acting gigs sooner rather than later. If they get the chance to audition for Pilot Season, they very well may take that chance, rather than take the risk of resigning onto a show that could get cancelled by May. I think it would be smarter for all parties to just quit while they’re ahead, and decide that this is the final Season with a formal announcement at the TCAs tomorrow. Don’t play mindgames with this “we may or may not do a Season 8” nonsense, like they did last year with Season 7.

ModeratorThe new game show Child Support premiered with a 0.9 in OUAT’s slot last night, and Agents of SHIELD bumped up again to a 0.7. Things are looking even worse for OUAT.

ModeratorIsnât this just Gothel?
No, cause we’re already led to believe she’s the main threat right now, and she’s technically a part of the Coven of Witches. âItâs not just going straight up against them. Thereâs a twist to it and a threat that comes from another directionâ makes it sound like it’s a threat separate from the Coven.

ModeratorDeep into 7B?
Sounds like Zelena is sticking around for the majority of the season.
I get the impression that they were never truly getting rid of her after Season 6. They simply demoted her back to recurring, in order to make room for more new regulars and because storywise they didn’t really need her until 710.
MatthewPaul
ModeratorThe thing is, Adelaide was never a regular, so there’s a set number of episodes she’s allowed to be in this Season as a guest star. Even if they offered it to her, she may have declined, because she probably realized that this show won’t continue past this Season, so she wants to make herself available for Pilot Season. Speaking of Adelaide, she filmed with Emma Booth today:
