Cruella found the book and placed it on the gargoyle herself. She told Hook at the diner. Guessing you may have missed this?
[adrotate group="5"]It indeed looks like the Dragon is back, who is totally a returning character that none of us expected for the finale. And he’s still alive after Tamara tased him to death? Well, he did tell her that “you haven’t met the real me”, so whatever.
Actually, I think I’ll change my prediction to a 1.2; for some reason I forgot we were holding steady there.
if a big death has been leaked, then it’s more likely that people will tune in to see it. and the finale will hold steady, especially starting at 7pm and not going up against GoT
Another factor I realized about the death: Considering that they’re going to resurrect Hook by the end of the episode, I’m sure a good number of Robin/OQ fans will still watch the finale in hopes that Robin’s death can somehow be undone.
Predictions for 521?
My guess: a 1.1 in the demo, steady as she goes.
I’m going with 1.2, as that’s been the demo since 517. I dunno if I see them going down a tenth again when there’s only 2 weeks left for the Season.
Even with the controversial death in tomorrow night’s episode, I’m not so sure we’ll see a drop the week after, since that’ll be the finale. Have you ever noticed any noticeable ratings drops following a character’s death on any show? For example, there was no noticeable drop following Neal’s death in 315. 316 actually increased from 315’s 2.1 to a 2.4, and Season 3 closed with a 2.3.

The sexual harassment rumours are completely untrue for the fact the makeup artist herself that the rumours were about came out in Sean’s defence. Also Lana Parilla, who was cast in the “knight in shining armour” role in the rumour, came out and said nothing of the sort had happened.As for the other 3 more likely possibilities.
1. Sean being dissatisfied with his role- Robin holds no real importance in the story, he’s just there to prop up Regina’s character instead of existing as his own character. It’s not the first time an actor on this show has spoken out about their lack of story (Michael Socha). If the actor has to spend time away from their family, they at least want it to be worthwhile, not just standing in the background.
2. Budget cuts- Cutting Robin would make sense to save money because of the fact he has no real impact on the story.
3. Fallout with Someone- This could feed into 1. Either it’s A&E over the lack of screentime or it’s one of the “big” cast members like JMO, Colin, RC, Ginny, Josh, or Emilie. However, considering Robin has nothing to do with RumBelle and doesn’t share scenes with them, I think RC and Emilie are unlikely. It could also be that Sean disagreed with the direction the story went in eg, Robin is expected to forgive Zelena after what she did to him.
There is a fourth option though.
4. Robin was killed off so the WickedSisters storyline could continue without reminding the viewers what Zelena did to Robin. The writers need Regina to be in a certain headspace and they can’t do that with Robin around to keep her happy.

5. They want the Evil Queen to resurface. It’s pretty much already confirmed that Regina will struggle with Robin’s death, and the Evil Queen will somehow return in the finale. I think what will happen is that Regina will have an internal struggle, but will ultimately decide to remain good because she’s come too far in her character development. However, she will run into Jekyll/Hyde, and for whatever reason drinks his formula. This will cause Regina to turn back into the Evil Queen against her own will, just like the Spell of Shattered Sight. Robin’s death will certainly add more fuel to the Evil Queen’s rage. Granted, this storyline could be the main reason for killing Robin, or rather having to kill Robin as a result of another reason opened the door for them to go this route.

Could the death cause Regina to revert back to the Evil Queen?
KITSIS: Oooh, good question. Can’t say. The reason we can’t is because we can’t say there’s been a death.The gig is up. Everyone and their dog knows Robin dies.

Will the innocent souls in the river like Aunt Em and Milah ever be released?
KITSIS: I would watch this weekend.The people in the River of Lost Souls can be saved? That would be nice to see. Aunt Em and Milah certainly did not deserve to go there.
Will we get to see what happened to Lily and Maleficent and who Lily’s dad is?
HOROWITZ: Next season. Oh yeah, we’ll have plans. You’ll see, hopefully they’ll be great.
KITSIS: I’ll say this, we hear the fans. We know what stories you feel like we’ve dropped, and we’ve got an episode for you next year.
HOROWITZ: We’ve got some plans to try to address many of those things next season.They also teased about doing so this Season, so I’ll believe it when I see it.
Are we going to see what happened with Will and Anastasia someday?
KITSIS: Someday! Maybe right around when we see Lily and Maleficent.I’ll also believe it when I see it. I’m not holding my breath.
