I’m pretty sure the person editing the episode simply copy/pasted the same time card that was used for “Our Decay”. They’re exactly the same words and placement. They probably overlooked the “Many Years Ago” part, for whatever reason.

I dunno if I’d take Hook’s words literally, because “hasn’t slept” may just mean that Emma has gotten little sleep, rather than not sleeping at all. One thing with this show is that they’re pretty ambiguous as to how much time passes in between episodes. I mean the entire Camelot quest took place over 6 weeks based on what they told us at the end of “The Dark Swan”, but it may not come across as that long when watching all of the Camelot flashbacks back to back.
Okay so I’m not going crazy. Mulan and Red have only known each other a few months at most.
Anyway, interesting that they took it down.
Yeah, they met when Arthur and Zelena teamed up venturing to Dun Broch during the whole Camelot arc. Besides that, this flashback takes place when Zelena is sent back to Oz by Regina, which occurred even more recently. How long have they been in the Underworld now? Maybe a few weeks tops? I can somewhat understand when there’s a few weird timeline issues in flashbacks that took place way back when, but messing up with more recent timeline events that literally took place within the same Season? That’s a new low. Hopefully they do get this fixed before Sunday.

I think what happened was that whoever made that timecard mistakenly blended together both the past and present day events of “The Bear King” in their recollection. Anyway, it looks like ABC already took the sneak peek down. The direct link to the video still technically works, but ABC de-listed it from the page itself. So maybe ABC was already alerted that they screwed up, or they simply weren’t supposed to release this sneak peek when they did? If they do “re-post” it with the timecard still wrong, I can tweet Geoffrey Hildrew, who was the editor for this episode. He tends to respond to me, so if I alert him, he could possibly have this fixed before the episode even airs. It’s not unheard of for last minute edits to be done a mere few days away from broadcast.

It was a decent episode this week as was last week’s. Next week’s kind of feels like it’s going to be filler.
I wonder if, during the writing of season 6, A&E will look back at the ratings for season 5 and see which episodes got higher ratings and what those episodes consisted of. Since Hook’s episode got the lowest rating of season 5 and the entire series so far, hopefully the writers may start to realise that Hook isn’t the be all and end all of Once.
Out of interest, in the entirety of season 5 so far where does Her Handsome Hero and Our Decay rank in terms of demos?
To be fair, 515 aired on Easter, where everything was lower, so I wouldn’t use that episode as a basis for anything. ABC even said that all of their Easter Sunday programming are being labeled under “special”, and won’t be factored into the Seasonal averages. If it had aired on a normal night, chances are it would have gotten a 1.1 just like 514 and 516 did.
Gaston’s surname was LeGume in the original screenplay for Beauty and the Beast. I have to admit that’s quite a clever thing for the writers to actually research and use. Legume is also the French word for vegetable. You can hear it here in this clip from the DVD special features, about 4:42 in:
