ModeratorBased on this week (dropping .2) I’d say we’re going to drop by the same amount, at least, and yes, go fractional. It’s not gonna be pretty. But then we should bounce back at least .1 the following week.
Here’s something we discussed earlier, that I feel would be appropriate to bring up here. ABC has not had the best luck with their returning dramas this Spring. Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, and Agents of SHIELD have also returned low after a lengthy winter hiatus. On a related note, OUAT used to be able to inch back up a few tenths following each lengthy hiatus, but that has no longer been the case with Season 5 at all. 5A premiered tying with Season 4’s finale, and 5B premiered tying with 5A’s finale. This is on top of ABC’s new shows failing miserably, with Of Kings and Prophets being the notable recent dud.
Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised if ABC re-evaluates whether the split-Season scheduling works for their main dramas. Especially with Channing Dungey recently replacing Paul Lee as their president. They could come to the conclusion that the 3 month hiatuses weaken viewer interest in these shows, and it doesn’t help that the filler programming in-between haven’t entirely done well. Galavant and Agent Carter both under-performed as OUAT and SHIELD’s bridge shows. Now the on-and-off scheduling did have its own share of flaws, hence why the split-scheduling decision was made in the first place. It really comes down to which scenario benefits the network more.

ModeratorUh…all of Emma’s baby stuff is in her house?
We saw that in 514, too. When Emma, Rumple and Milah enter her house.

ModeratorIs it just me or are the photos getting….lazier? That’s only two main characters, two guest stars (and really only 1 of Hades) and for the most part, looks like it’s only one scene.
There are more, you just had to click on “Load More” at the bottom of the first set of photos. Other photos include Henry, Cruella and the Apprentice. I just posted all of them now anyway.

ModeratorThey have found new ways but Ad buyers don’t care. Streaming means nothing to them and they actually hate it (there are no ads in streaming); DVR is fine but you can fast foward (so less money). On Demand is good because it forces you to watch ads.
It’s all about the ads, Nonnie. It always has been. It doesn’t matter what OUAT does in streaming. The Ad Buyers could care less.
And that’s a new series low, folks.
There actually are ads in streaming, when it comes to Hulu and ABC.com. Even with Hulu’s so called “commercial free” option, ABC primetime shows are exempt from this, and there are still commercials before each episode. AdBlock does not worth with Hulu, either. The real problem is that the ads are not the same ads that were included during the original airing of the episodes, so they can’t be calculated together with the same ratings.
Yeah, next episode airs on Easter, so it’s sure to be quite painful. It should be noted that NBC and CBS will also be airing new episodes that night, so it’s not just ABC. I will not be surprised to see the show go fractional (as in under a 1.0) for that night, but will likely bounce back up a little the following week, based on what happened the last time the show aired a new episode on Easter.

ModeratorHades or Rumple (because he had to) choosing those 3 names was a stroke of genius because it guarantees that all six of them would stay in the underworld. Not only is it one half of each couple meaning one won’t leave without the other, but it also banks on male pride. Whilst Charming probably can’t leave without Snow because of the shared heart thing, it would look bad on Hook and Robin if they turned around and went “see yah” to Emma and Regina. If it had been the male names on the gravestones, they would have probably convinced the women to leave because EF society is patriarchal and sets gender roles eg men are the “protectors” whilst women keep the home running smoothly. This is why Spinner RUmplwas looked dowon by the rest of his villiage because he didn’t fit the traditional gender role that sociey expected of him.
Hook can’t leave either way, because he’s still “dead”. Until Emma can figure out what needs to be done, the only way he can leave for the living world is if he trades places with a living soul. Even then, though, it looks like none of them can leave without that boat.

ModeratorMickey’s back!?
It would appear so. With Henry looking for the quill, I guess it would make sense if he bumps into him. So that would also mean that the Apprentice has unfinished business, if he too is in the Underworld?
