ModeratorMatt Mitovich tweeted that ABC probably won’t announce episode counts/final Seasons until upfronts, like we assumed:
@Lady_Junky @TheMatthewPaul Sorry. It's just VERY early in the process to be wonder/worrying. That info typically comes out at May upfronts

@Lady_Junky @TheMatthewPaul It's only ever really a question for sophomore shows, where Season 2 is sometimes just 13 to start.

@TheMatthewPaul @Lady_Junky Yes, but obvi ABC was in not looking to announce any final seasons today. Would have been denoted.

ModeratorI think it’s possible to get a one episode thing going for those particular characters. But idk how Aladdin could work given that Jafar’s story had nothing to do with either of them, and that A&E said a long time ago that Sidney was not Aladdin’s genie (unless they kill two birds with one stone and make Jafar Aladdin’s genie… which is nice). Princess and the frog only really works in my head if Tamara really is the granddaughter of Tiana somehow, which I think they may have been going for. But it still has issues. Idk. I think they WILL do it. A&E won’t let this show go without playing with the remaining toys. But as far a season long arc I doubt it.
Jafar being Aladdin’s genie as a twist is something I’ve theorized since the end of Wonderland, and I would be all for it. As for Princess and the Frog, I have a feeling we’ll get a Fictional New Orleans world (we have at least two Fictional Englands, after all). I can’t see them bringing back Tamara. That character has long since been forgotten about, and was pretty poorly received from the get go. I mean, look at how quickly they killed her off at the start of Season 3. Besides, Sonequa-Martin Green is still a series regular on The Walking Dead, so I doubt she’d be available.

ModeratorHm. Okay. But those character descriptions really don’t mesh with those stories. Still think it’s the Brothers Grimm. And if S6 really is the last, I think they are willing to let Aladdin/Princess and the Frog go in order to wrap everything up.
That’s assuming that Aladdin and Princess and the Frog would be the focus of the arcs they appear in. They might not be. For example, 5A was mainly about Camelot and the Dark Swan, but you also had Merida mixed in as a side story. 4B also incorporated Maleficent, Ursula and Cruella into one arc. There’s also the more old school guest star route, where they are only the focus of one or a small handful of episodes like Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, the Mad Hatter, Ariel, and Rapunzel.

ModeratorI really doubt it’s the Princess and the Frog. That movie would have made a lot of sense tying into the upcoming arc but I think that’s one Disney movie they are just not going to touch.
As for Aladdin, I think that ship has sailed. They might get Naveen back (if they can pry him away from Sense8) but I’m not sure they’re going to touch the actual Aladdin and Jasmine.
Funnily enough, Adam has stated otherwise in an interview posted earlier today, in regards to adding Aladdin, Jasmine and the characters from the Princess and the Frog.
Who’s still on your wish list?
HOROWITZ Aladdin and Jasmine are characters we love. The Princess and the Frog is a movie we really enjoyed, and we think that there are wonderful characters in there.

I expect they’ll likely resolve Mulan’s storyline this Season, anyway. At least I would hope so.

ModeratorQuantico and Fresh off the Boat also just got renewed. This makes Quantico the first non OUAT Sunday show to get renewed for a 2nd Season since Resurrection:
