MUCH TO HIS DISMAY, KING RICHARD FINDS HIS KINGDOM VERY DIFFERENT FROM HOW HE LEFT IT, AND GALAVANT IS DETERMINED TO PLAY MATCHMAKER IN BACK-TO-BACK EPISODES, ON ABC’S “GALAVANT”
“Aw, Hell, the King” and “Bewitched, Bothered and Belittled” Air Sunday, January 10
“Aw, Hell, the King” – Desperate to raise an army and storm Hortensia, Galavant and King Richard return to his former castle to find the village thriving, now that they’ve found democracy. The discovery leads Richard to have an identity crisis now that his people don’t need him. Galavant uses a town hall meeting to recruit fighters from the village, but the volunteers are in short supply. In Hortensia, an evil wedding planner named Wormwood poisons Isabella’s mind with an enchanted tiara, intent on making her help him take over the kingdom. Meanwhile, Madalena threatens Sid with death unless he helps Gareth overcome his guilt-ridden nightmares about betraying Richard on “Galavant,” airing SUNDAY, JANUARY 10 (8:00–8:30 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.
“Bewitched, Bothered and Belittled” — While continuing their quest to gather an army, King Richard discovers that he has a connection to Roberta, the beautiful warrior who volunteered to help. Galavant plays matchmaker. Madalena is invited to the Basikobitcz party – the “it” girls of the kingdom – and can’t wait to be accepted into their group. The party is not what she expected, and, when she returns home, she discovers that she has feelings and does not like her new emotion. Gareth cheers her up with a present while Chef tries to convince Gwen that their lives are better in Hortencia. Under Wormwood’s spell, Isabella is in full wedding-planning mode, on “Galavant,” airing SUNDAY, JANUARY 10 (8:30–9:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.
“Galavant” stars Joshua Sasse as Galavant, Timothy Omundson as King Richard, Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Madalena, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid. The ten-episode series will run each Sunday night for five-consecutive weeks.
“Aw, Hell, the King” was written by Kat Likkel and John Hoberg and directed by John Fortenberry. Guest stars Genevieve Allenbury as Queen of Valencia, Ben Presley as Jester, Stanley Townsend as King of Valencia, Clare Foster as Roberta, Muzz Khan as Barry, Robert Lindsay as Wormwood, Matt Lucas as Peasant John, Chris Bearne as Old Man Edward, Elaine Caulfield as Peasant Woman, Stuart Ramsay as Baker and Phil Zimmerman as Beggar.
“Bewitched, Bothered and Belittled” was written by Maggie Bandur and directed by Declan Lowney. Guest stars are Darren Evans as Chef, Ben Presley as Jester, Kemaal Deen-Ellis as Prince Harry, Clare Foster as Roberta, Sophie McShera as Gwynne, Robert Lindsay as Wormwood, Arybella Eddy as Young Catherine Falconberry, Darren Jelley as Mercenary Leader, Sarah Hadland as Catherine, Daniel Lander as Waiter, Sally Phillips as Ivana, Oliver Powell as Maitre d’ and James Bowman as Queen’s Servant.
“He absolutely has a surprising connection to one of our cast,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says, though Horowitz is quick to add: “Before everyone runs to Twitter to give their opinions on it, he’s not related to anyone, but there is a connection.”

There’s Fictional Victorian London; Fictional Flapper London; and I guess Fictional 1900s Kansas (that’s when Wizard of Oz was published)
Also, A Land Without Color is shown to be a Fictional 19th Century Europe. Victor’s commission letter refers to Austria, and is written in German. The Frankenstein novel takes place in Switzerland (a German speaking country at the time), which is likely the same country they were trying to imply they were in.
Having returned home to the Heartland at the end of Season 3’s Zelena-centric “Kansas” episode (and then played by Matreya Scarrwener), Dorothy returns to Oz to save the magical city from the most wicked of witches. But to do so, she will have to forge new friendships, unlocking a strength she has never had before.
But…. shouldn’t Dorothy be…. like over 60 years old? I am assuming the ordeal with her and Zelena did not occur in 1901 when the book was published but if she was from our land, Dorothy shouldn’t have remained ageless all these years
I think Dorothy is from a Fictional Kansas, which was frozen in time like the other realms.
