ModeratorHinting at it in any meaningful way would have been nice.
The only possible hint that comes to mind was when Hook almost touched Excalibur in “Dreamcatcher”, as if he was being drawn to it, but was stopped.

ModeratorThe pond has actually appeared since Season 3. It was even the location where Emma told Henry about Neal’s death:

ModeratorStarting in January, Nielsen is updating its sample size to 100,000 people in 40,000 homes from 25,000 homes:

ModeratorHonestly, a big issue with Dark Hook is that this should have been developed over the course of a lot more episodes, but it looks like it’s probably just the end of 508-511. This storyline reminds me of Angelus from Buffy Season 2.
Buffy and Angel (a vampire with a soul) were the main couple for that Season. Things go all wrong for the pairing, when Buffy and Angel make love for the first time during the middle of the Season. Because Angel found “one moment of true happiness”, he loses his soul and reverts to his evil persona Angelus. The Angelus arc lasts all the way to the Season finale, where he opens up a portal to Hell. Sound familiar? He does so in order to suck every living being on Earth into Hell, which is also eerily similar to Nimue wanting to snuff out the light. The finale ends with Buffy killing Angelus to save the world, which also sounds familiar with what we know from OUAT 511’s spoilers. The entire Angelus arc lasted about 10 episodes, compared to Dark Hook’s 3 episodes.
It’s funny how often Hook is compared to Spike, when now it seems like they’re borrowing traits from Angel/Angelus as well.

ModeratorIf Emilie is being written out due to her pregnancy, it should be noted that it’s possible Emilie herself requested the time off. Unfortunately we don’t know, but figured it needs to be mentioned as a possibility.

ModeratorAnd we finally dropped quite a bit last night. Last night did a 1.3 demo and 4.32 million viewers. It was still the number 1 non-sports demo, despite that low number. A couple of possible factors:
1) Viewers were turned off by 508 and/or 509.
2) It was the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, so some viewers may not have been home quite yet.The Reaper still thinks OUAT is safe, for now though:
#OUAT ratings (1.3) hit a season low, cheering the anti-fans, but it’s still likely to be renewed.

ModeratorHonestly, I don’t think we’ll see Lancelot again for a while. At the beginning of the episode they had him riding off to his mother (The Lady of the Lake). He hasn’t been seen in Storybrooke all season and wasn’t in the montage towards the end of the episode so I think it’s safe to assume that he’s still in the Enchanted Forest somewhere until they need him again in a few seasons time.
Actually, I think there’s a chance that we’ll see him and /or the Lady of the Lake in next week’s Mid-Season finale. Lancelot was sent to find his mother as an ally, and that very well might play a role. For one, she’s the Lady of the Lake, and the portal of the Underworld just happened to be shown in a lake in the very same episode. Maybe the Lady of the Lake can transport between realms via water like mermaids can? Just seems like a deus ex machina type plot device that they would do.

ModeratorWe still don’t know what Merlin meant when he said “there is only one person who can help you defeat the Dark One now. Her name is Nimue. If you want to destroy the darkness then you must…” Maybe he foresaw Nimue’s return in Storybrooke, and we’ll get the answer soon. Maybe since Nimue is the original Dark One, defeating her in some sort of way is the key to destroying the Dark One curse?

ModeratorAlso,
I feel like one of those next big steps is coming face to face with her own mother, Cora. With Cora returning in 5B, that very well may happen. It all started with Cora abandoning Zelena, after all.
