ModeratorUnderworld will be 5B, mark my words! And Hades will be our 5B Villain!
You can’t just tease something this big and not explore…it’s like all the hints from Season 2 that took us to Neverland and then Oz….this was a major tease that we’re headed to Greek Mythology next.
There’s been quite a few Camelot hints sprinkled throughout the previous Seasons, too. We had Lancelot introduced in Season 2. Merlin and Excalibur were mentioned in Season 3. Camelot and Merlin were mentioned in Season 4, of course. Greek mythology has similarly been sprinkled throughout the previous Seasons, too. We had King Midas and the Siren in Season 1. The Pegasus sail, Pandora’s box and Medusa were all in Season 3 alone. Now we have the Fury, Charon and the Underworld from this episode.

ModeratorI could totally see the end of this season being that the Fury comes back and takes Emma to the Underworld. If they do that, and make it her journey back from the Underworld (a proper heroes katabasis) then I’ll forgive them for making this part of the episode feel so random.
Did you just predict the cliffhanger for the Winter Finale? Episode ends with the Fury taking Emma off to the Underworld.

ModeratorOkaaaaaay. So, we’re not going to hype Merlin?
They might want to keep Merlin’s first “formal” appearance underwraps, despite us knowing the actor and ABC even releasing a poster of him. If Merlin even appears in this episode.

ModeratorI really think Hades is coming. Perhaps as early as this Season.

ModeratorI agree with this. If we hit something below 1.6 then it means the die hards are starting to find something else to watch(always assume they are watching in the next few days)
Are there any noteworthy cable shows that air during Once’s timeslot? Regular networks wise, Once’s only direct competition is Football, the Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Madam Secretary. Once tends to do fairly well against them on an average basis.

ModeratorHow fast and how low we drop really depends on how many dedicated viewers remain. The lower you drop, the more the audience consists of die-hards. The last 6 weeks of 4B remained relatively flat averaging a 1.7, which could give us an idea on how large the die-hard audience is. Currently “Heart of Gold”s 1.6 is the series low, so I think dropping below that will be the next big sign to look out for.

ModeratorI know a significant portion of the HP fandom rank CoS at the bottom of the pile, but for some reason I’ve always loved this book. This is the book where Harry really is exposed to the Wizarding world. Yes, he went to Diagon Alley, attended Hogwarts, and fought the evilest wizard of modern history, but he’s still sheltered to the outside wizarding community. He’s shepherded from Hogwarts straight back to the Dursleys where no magic is allowed. But Harry is aging and has a tiny bit more life experience and as a reflection of that his world is expanding, too.
I completely agree. I’ve always enjoyed CoS a lot more than the majority of the Harry Potter fandom. In fact, I enjoyed it even more than the first book. It’s actually OotP that is my least favorite, which I’ll go into more detail once we get to it.

ModeratorI predict we’ll either remain flat or drop to a 1.7. The 2nd episode of the Season normally stays flat or has a very minimal drop.
