ModeratorThe only time a dreamcatcher has been used aside from Swanfire plot points, was when Emma used one on Pongo to extract his memories in “The Cricket Game.” Considering MRJ is currently busy filming Game of Silence, I doubt he’ll be returning for this episode, even if it was for a flashback. However, recent set photos are pointing towards something happening between Henry and Violet, Sir Lionel’s daughter.

ModeratorLike the deleted Hook backstory from 406’s script, Adam has posted the script of this deleted scene between Robin and Rumple. Though, we don’t know if there was a separate deleted scene showing how Robin used the curtain to get to Oz. Like the other scene, this one is not canon:

ModeratorLooks like they’re giving Merida the Frozen treatment. They aren’t doing an alternate re-telling the movie, but are instead having her story on OUAT take place after the movie. The twist will be to see how Merida fits in with the OUAT universe. Except this time around, it seems like Merida will only be playing a supporting role, rather than having her story be the backbone of the entire half-Season. The focus will still be on Camelot and Dark Swan, not “BRAVE ALL THE THINGS”, as RG would describe it.

Moderator1. Do you think the Hogwarts Sorting System is fair? Should it be replaced?
The House system at Hogwarts has always reminded me of college fraternities and sororities. The Sorting Hat is basically the initiation process, except its for all houses. Each House lives in its own set of dormitories, or rather own “house” like a fraternity/sorority. There are also codes associated with each House, such as the password system to get into Gryffindor Tower. And of course there’s a rivalry among all the Houses, just like with college. As for whether the Sorting System is fair or not, that’s hard to say. As you mentioned before, the biggest negative is how it labels students by stereotypes, and leads to tension between Houses.
2. Is the Hat ever wrong?
It’s hard to say for sure. For one, I always did find it weird that Hermione Granger, the most intelligent and bookish student there is at Hogwarts, ended up in Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw. Neville Longbottom also seemed like he would have been a natural fit for Hufflepuff, but he ended up in Gryffindor. However, later events in the series gave us a better idea why some people truly belonged in each house. It’s like the Sorting Hat is effected by fate.
3. Is Harryβs fear of Slytherin justified?
From Harry’s point of view, yes. As previously stated, Voldemort himself was in Slytherin house, and Draco ended up being sorted into it. Clearly he didn’t want to belong to the same house of two people he despised.
4. Congrats! You are now the Sorting Hat. Pick ONE character from OUAT and place them into a Hogwarts house, justifying your reasons and weighing if itβs a true fit.
Rumple would have been placed in Slytherin, no question. He’s the Dark One, cunning, resourceful, and ambitious. He certainly wouldn’t have been placed in Gryffindor, based on his cowardice.
5. As a very minor question, why on earth did the Hat take so long with Seamus Finnegan?
Part of it could have had something to do with him being a Half-Blood. His dad is a muggle, while his mom is a witch. Harry was also a Half-Blood, which also could have complicated the Sorting Hat’s decision making.

ModeratorAndrew and Kalinda talked about this in their 406 commentary. They said that they put it into a scrap box of ideas to play with at a later date if they wanted.
Right, that’s why fans brought it up with Adam on Twitter, and he decided to share the script for the scene in question.
And since this is currently not canon, this could easily change once they do go explore more of Hook’s backstory for real. Just like how they wrote an alternate story concerning Malcolm abandoning Rumple for “Manhattan”, where he got killed while on the run. They of course changed it so that Malcolm got de-aged and transformed into Peter Pan.

ModeratorI want to take a minute to discuss some food for thought, literally. This also happens to be the chapter that introduces use to the unique food of Harry Potter’s world. There’s the Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum, Cauldron Cakes, and Pumpkin Pasties. I’m sure many of use craved wanting to try these foods for ourselves, to the extant that the fans created homemade recipes. Many of which you can find on Mugglenet: http://www.mugglenet.com/fans-fun/rosmertas-recipes/
Of course official versions of these products would eventually come out, the first I recall being Bertie Bott’s. I still recall the first time I tried them, and it was quite the experience. Gross flavors and all. Many real life versions of these products would be produced for Universal Studio’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. As someone who has been there in person, I can tell you how amazing it was to try Butterbeer, as approved by Rowling herself. The Butterbeer is one of the biggest draws to the park, as it is a beverage every Harry Potter fan has always wanted to drink, and this is only place you can drink it authentically. Though you can find some pretty close copycat recipes on the web, if you look hard enough.
Anyway, the point I’m trying to convey is that Rowling was so thorough with her world building that even the food got us invested. It invited us into Harry’s Wizarding world, and gave us a closer look into the Wizarding culture. If any of you have your own experiences with Harry Potter food and beverages, feel free to share. Whether you tried any of the official products, or made some home made versions at home for a Harry Potter party.
