The authors name is Isaac Heller? Is that a thing? On the book henry is holding, it says Isaac Heller or Hellen?
The book doesn’t exist, and I can’t find any real life author with the name “Isaac Heller.” So yeah, seems like this is really his full name.
[adrotate group="5"]I actually saw a very similar idea to mine done in an episode of the Aladdin TV series. Sadira, a sand witch who has the hots for Aladdin, uses her magic to switch lives with Jasmine. The spell doesn’t actually change the past, but alters everyone’s memories and personalities. So Sadira is now the princess living in the palace, and Jasmine is a streetrat. However, she forgets to alter the memories of the animals (Abu, Iago, and Raja), so it ends up being up to them to try and fix everything. With their help, Aladdin and Jasmine do end up crossing paths, and their connection via true love breaks Sadira’s spell.
The core idea seems similar to my theory for the OUAT Season 4 finale, except it’s swapping all the heroes and villains.
Ugh. So Baelfire was never even born in this AU? Yeah, Henry had better fix that, pronto, because his very existence is at stake now.
Not if what I said in the post above you turns out to be the case. That would mean that Henry’s existence wouldn’t be erased because this AU isn’t literally changing the past.
Yeah…if this is Rumple’s happy ending (which it is), then I fully expect to see 14-year-old Baelfire. Why wouldn’t Isaac be able to give Rumple what he always wanted (to raise his son)? And…yeah, wouldn’t Rumple still want magic, even if it’s good magic? And if Rumple is not the dark one, how is he even alive? He should’ve died 300 years before Belle was born. And how is Hook alive if he never went back to Neverland to seek revenge on Rumple for killing Milha? Small details…but ever so important.

From what I gather, what is happening with this AU is that the past isn’t technically changed, but rather personalities and memories are suddenly changed. Isaac is starting this new story from a clean slate with the characters he is writing about. After all, this is a new book entirely entitled “Heroes and Villains”, rather than altering the original “Once Upon a Time” book.
I also mentioned how this would also explain why Henry’s birth isn’t retconned, if the past isn’t literally altered to make this AU work.
Question: in tonight’s episode, the Author says that his Ink must be fueled by Emma’s blood. So…how was he able to write anything pre-Emma’s birth?
It goes back to what Ursula said in “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” How Emma was the one who gave people their happy endings in Storybrooke, so the Author couldn’t do so here without her blood. The ink probably didn’t require savior blood back in FTL.
Now that I think about it, Rumple being a brave knight in this reality actually does make sense, given what we know of his past. Back in the flashback seen in “Manhattan”, Rumple actually wanted to fight in the Ogres War and be a hero. However, he was too afraid of dying on the battlefield and leaving his son fatherless, so he injured himself to escape from the battlefield. Of course we all know he would want his son back in this new “happy ending”, but if it turns out that the Author can’t make that happen, then being a brave hero and being together with Belle would be an ideal compromise. Though what fascinates me is that he could have went the route of still being an all powerful wizard with no dagger curse, but it doesn’t look like that is the case. So could the human side of Rumple truly want to be courageous without having to hide behind his magic?
So Rumple was just born in “present”EF instead of way past? Okay. I’ll take that.
Well, I mean, my theory makes somewhat sense when Henry is clearly still around. The past technically isn’t altered, so Henry’s birth isn’t retconned.
Question: how can Hook and Rumple be alive in the Pre-Curse EF if Rumple isn’t the Dark One and Hook (probably) never went to NL and “froze” for 200+ years?
