Saw an interesting theory floating around that I feel I might as well share here. What if Emma actually ends up killing Cruella while trying to save Henry? Something just might make Emma snap and go too far, therefore she makes her first real slip towards darkness. We know Cruella probably isn’t going to be around after this episode, based on set reports and spoilers for the remaining episodes, so either Cruella leaves or she’s killed.
And of course Adam denies it, because he’s not supposed to confirm until ABC officially announces it:

It’s pretty obvious that Season 5 is already greenlit, and that both Sean and Josh just slipped when they weren’t supposed to. Actually just remembered that apparently a crew member let it slip on set that Bobby was set to return next Season too, according to Larry, so that’s three people who have apparently leaked it. Wish ABC would just make the announcement early at this point, rather than playing the denial game just so they can wait til the Upfronts.

If that’s all there is to it – then why doesn’t she just kill the Author herself? Why kidnap Henry and force Emma and Regina to do it?
Either the Author is too powerful for her to overcome or she still has feelings for the Author, and doesn’t want to be the one to personally kill him. But she still wants him dead.

Keep in mind that it’s still not official until ABC confirms it, but this is the 2nd actor to have “leaked” that Season 5 is apparently happening.
