ModeratorI shared this theory in the chatroom, but I think somehow Zelena changes the past so that Regina was never born. In the sneak peek for episode 31, Zelena says her problem with Regina was that she “was born.” I think Zelena wants the life she feels she was robbed of.

ModeratorThis is probably done on purpose, but actually, these new pics of Colin in that long brown coat, he looks more like the cartoon version of Hook now. Except it’s not bright red or orange. It’s brown. Still love it!
Next he’ll be wearing a permed wig. =]

ModeratorI get that people need to mourn, but I’m not going to view this as all gloomy and depressing for the rest of the series. Life’s too short.
I have remained pretty quiet as of late–which is not like me. But it’s how I want to handle my grief. But I just want to address this point. You are well within your rights to not want to be gloomy and depressing for the rest of the series. That is you personal subjective viewpoint. But the people who are upset by this are also well within their right be so. If they see this as the death of the show, as the end of something they love and held dear, that is THEIR personal subjective viewpoint. And they should be welcome to it, just as you are yours. For the most part (I will not say altogether because I know it is not true) the gloom has been isolated to one thread–the SF thread. The shipping thread rule still stands: if you go into a shipping thread, be prepared not to like what you see. But what they are posting is just how they feel. And no amount of rationalization posts or attempts at getting them to see a different viewpoint, is going to change that. In fact, it’s making them more angry. I’m sure the anger will quiet down but it must play out. People must be allowed to say how they feel right now. And if they are keeping it isolated to one thread (for the most part) then I don’t see why it’s a big deal.
I wasn’t trying to change any of your opinions. Should have been clearer. You’ve all made your stance and are clearly sticking to it. Just like I am free to express my own response and analysis. People can take my post for what they will. Sharing multiple perspectives and views makes for a perfectly healthy discussion.

ModeratorJust because one innocent dies mean the hope of the show is dead? Sorry, but no. Tragedy still happens, nor should it be sugarcoated just because its a show about fairy tales. And I very much disagree that Neal’s death means no happy endings for Emma, Henry, and Rumple. If you’re going by that logic, let’s see:
1. Regina can never have a happy ending because she already lost Daniel and both of her parents? Of course not. She found a new love in her adopted son Henry, and will find yet another new love in Robin Hood. Franken-Daniel even told Regina to “love again.”
2. Snow and Charming can never have a happy ending because they lost their parents? She found Charming and has since had Emma. While unfortunately she was robbed the opportunity of raising Emma, she’ll still get to be with her while also getting ready for a new baby.
3. Robin Hood and Roland can never have a happy ending because they lost Marian? No, Robin even said that his son gave him something to continue living for and loving and he will eventually get together with Regina.
What makes losing Neal so very different? Losing people has been a part of nature since the beginning and it exists in fiction just as much. Heck, Disney films kill off parental figures so often. Bambi’s mom and Mufasa are among the most iconic deaths in cinematic history. Of course you’ll never truly get over those loses, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t find a happy ending. It just won’t be the happy ending you originally had in mind. After all, “happy endings aren’t always what you expect.” Not saying they’ll get over those deaths, but they won’t spend the rest of their lives in misery either. After all, is that what our departed loved ones would want of us? To forever mourn and remain miserable till its our time to leave too? Did we learn nothing from when Regina tried to bury her heart and put herself under a sleeping curse? Neal even told Emma to promise him that she’ll find “Tallahassee”, even if it’s not with him, during his final moments. As for Rumple, yes he did lose the very son he’s been looking for over hundreds of years, but the two came to a complete understanding. I always felt that was the core of Rumple and Bae’s story: coming to that understanding and forgiving each other. Rumple will of course still have Belle, not to mention his grandson. It will never be the same without Bae in his life, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be allowed to explore those other loves. From the beginning of this second half of the Season, I knew that the idea of finding love again would be a major theme. I get that people need to mourn, but I’m not going to view this as all gloomy and depressing for the rest of the series. Life’s too short. Could his demise been handled a lot better? Pretty sure all of us agree on that one, but that’s a discussion on its own that’s worn itself out.

ModeratorI could see Henry naming his son Neal, not Snow.
