Moderatoragain they may not have added the CG yet
Maybe. We have a lot of BTS shots of this day of filming and never saw Keegen, Rose or Raphael
I think Crystal means since they would be tiny fairies again (and possibly a cricket, in Raphael’s case) in the Enchanted Forest, then they would film separately in front of a green screen.

ModeratorLumiere is not a maid. He’s But he does like a butler. But he does like to get frisky with the maid (feather duster). It was an enchantress who tuned him into a candlestick, but I suspect that this time it will be Rumple.
Lumiere knew that Belle was going to break the Beast Curse, and kept cautioning the beast to curb his temper and be nice to Belle.
I hope Lumiere is uppity, a bit humorous, and super snarky when Rumples not listening.
I was hoping to see Lumiere in present day which would give me hope that not only is Rumple alive, but that there was still potential for Belle to break whatever might be left of the dark one curse. Flashbacks would be nice, but I’d prefer to see present ay Lumiere and Rumbelle. My guess is Lawrence will be Lumiere’s cursed name, if he appears in present day.

ModeratorWasn’t there an article about a french maid that is what I was referring to that Matt. By the way I never did watch the Beauty and Beast.
Nope, the article never said “maid.”: http://tvline.com/2013/12/17/homeland-season-4-spoilers-carrie-quinn-romance/
I’m going to venture yes on getting a new Belle flashback, seeing as for Episode 15 the show is casting an “uppity,” “know-it-all” servant who must, repeat must, have a French accent. The character also is named “Lawrence,” which, I must observe, starts with the same letter as “Lumiere.”

ModeratorSo what is the maid Belle’s mother? Or is this like Snow’s nanny thing?
Lumiere is a guy. You know, the talking candlestick from Beauty and the Beast.

ModeratorI agree that this spinoff would likely never see the light of day, thanks to Wonderland being a flop. I would like to see a mini series of sorts as a Summer thing, like RG said, but yeah even that seems unlikely.

ModeratorSo 8pm Sunday works for most of these weeks? I can reschedule for the weeks of the Super Bowl and the Oscars, since plenty of people watch. Even with the Super Bowl, some of us might be busy with social commitments.

ModeratorAccording to ABC’s official recap, this explains why Rumple “died” along with Pan:
Mr. Gold appears behind him. He has words of love for both Neal and Belle. He summons his shadow, who brings him his dagger. Rumplestiltskin knows that the only way for Pan to die is if they both die. He holds him close as he plunges the dagger through his back. It goes through his body and into Rumple’s as well. Pan returns to his original form. Magic washes over father and son until both are gone. Rumplestiltskin saved them.
So, because Rumple was gripped around Pan the way he was, the dagger pierced both of their bodies. If this is correct, it makes more sense.

ModeratorTwice Upon A Time wrote: Not going to lie a bit miffed about yesterday’s episode These ratings aren’t good AT ALL for a midseason finale- you can’t even blame football- the game started at 9:00 Once was only against pre-game. I suppose we can blame Survivor. All I can hope for is a big boost in Live+3 day ratings because live+7 day rating are not even considered for anything ABC is going to have to promote like crazy to keep viewership steady when Once returns in March
I wanna see numbers in a few days but do bear this in mind: S4 is like 99.9% guaranteed. Beyond that is up for debate (one I keep having with people–currently I think we’ll get half a S5 at 13 eps to give us 100 total). S4 numbers will really determine anything. So yeah, they aren’t GREAT. But other shows on ABC took bigger hits.
Still I don’t want to see OUAT crash and burn- especially since it has been so good
Agreed. The Mid-Season premiere I feel should allow some recovery, as the Season 3 premiere recovered a lot from the Season 2 finale. If the 2nd half of the Season can keep ratings back up, though, is another story.

Moderator1) Overall grade for the season?: I give it an A-. It’s the second best Season (well Half-Season) of the show, following Season 1. It was a huge improvement from Season 2 in which we got a tighter storyline, less plotlines and characters jumbled together, and I feel that the majority of the cast had plenty of character development. Belle is the only major character who really got the short end of the stick, but I was impressed that they at least came up with Shadow Belle as a way to somewhat give Belle screentime during her absence. I also feel like the last 3 episodes just felt rushed and weak compared to the first 8 episodes. Overall, I think this split-Season approach was a step in the right direction. This allows them to tell a story arc in a tighter number of episodes, rather than stretching it out for a full 22 episodes. I can’t have imagined Neverland lasting all Season, as people complained about being sick of Neverland as is.
2) Top two favorite episodes: “Lost Girl” and “Think Lovely Thoughts.” “Lost Girl” was an episode where really everybody had a moment to shine, if you count Shadow Belle. You had the Charmings/Regina centric flashback, Emma coming to grips with who she is, Rumple and Belle seemingly talking, Hook showing his knowledge of the island (the Disney reference about Hook’s perm was fun too), and Pan really beginning to show how threatening he can be. “Think Lovely Thought” was just a solidly written episode with a lot of good moments. The whole Pan backstory, Pan and Rumple’s confrontation in Skull Rock, Neal slowly beginning to trust Rumple, and the powerful ending of Henry giving his heart up.
3) Least two favorite episodes: “Save Henry” and “The New Neverland.” Both of these episodes just really come off as rushed. With “Save Henry”, the adoption storyline just felt really flat and underwhelming, and I expected more. I also would have preferred seeing Regina’s life with Henry progress, rather than getting that pointless plot point of Regina finding out who Emma is and retconning that with a forgetful potion. I also felt like they got Henry’s heart back from Pan way too easily and there could have been more of a showdown. We also never got to see Neal firsthand finding out that Pan was his grandfather, and that was a revelation I really wanted to see onscreen. The entire scene of Neal freeing Rumple from Pandora’s box also should have been longer. “The New Neverland” is also rushed, but for different reasons. Ariel and Eric reuniting was way too quick and easily resolved, when I felt it should have been developed longer. Same goes for the Darling reunion. Both Ariel/Eric and the Darlings were written off too quickly, as if the story just decided they were no longer needed. I think they could have made “The New Neverland” flashbackless like “Heart of the Truest Believer” and “Into the Deep.” The Medusa flashback just felt like fun pointless filler, where instead we could have had more screentime devoted to the plot points I mentioned earlier.
4) Favorite moment: Rumple and Peter Pan’s confrontation in Skull Rock.
5) Favorite new character: Peter Pan. Yes we love to hate the character, but that’s essentially what makes a great villain. You WANT reasons to despise Peter Pan so much, that it becomes really satisfying to see him bite the dust. Robbie Kay’s performance just blew me away, and I was impressed with how well he worked in comparison to Robert Carlyle, which is not an easy task. You believed that Pan had the upper hand against Rumple.
6) Biggest “OMG” moment: Pan and Henry switching bodies. That was a surprise that I honestly wasn’t spoiled about, and it wasn’t that predictable.
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment: Funniest moment was Hook asking Emma about how he’s portrayed in the traditional Peter Pan stories, and her telling him “If waxed mustaches and perms are your thing.” Saddest moment was Rumple’s sacrifice. Happiest moment was the shortlived happy reunion in “The New Neverland.”

ModeratorReporters saying she is Elphaba is likely them just using the name out of familiarity. TVLine actually removed “Elphaba” from their article, so I’m thinking they won’t have the rights to the name. If Disney couldn’t get the rights to Elphaba for Oz the Great and Powerful, why would they for Once Upon A Time? Especially when it’s owned by a rival studio. Universal owns the rights to Wicked.
