I will be tuning in for sure. They also aired  Comic Con special tonight, which included a brief segment about Once Upon A Time. It looks like this special will be taken together from a few of the Season 2 DVD/Blu-Ray Special features. “Sincerely Hook” and “A Fractured Family Tree” are both listed. The DVD isn’t out for a few weeks, so it’ll be a nice way to see some of the Special features early, I guess.

Maybe that was the best they could do for Rufio fans due to rights issues?

Exactly. Hook being a TriStar film, Sony owns the rights to the film and all of its original characters. Disney/ABC would have to pay Sony for the rights to use Rufio, and it would be odd for Once to include a movie original character that Disney has no ties to whatsoever. Hence why I suspected it was simply being used as Peter Pan’s code name since that casting call went out.

There is no doubt in my mind that boy is PP.

Yep, this interview definitely confirms two things:

    1) Peter Pan has already been cast.

    2) The actor has pointy ears.

The first thing heavily suggests that my previous post about “Rufio” being a code name for Peter Pan’s casting. Unless they casted Peter Pan with no public casting call, this would make sense.

I have a hunch that the previous casting call for “Rufio” and Robbie Kay’s character are one in the same. I agree he might be Peter Pan himself, and “Rufio” was simply a code name all along. Rufio and Peter Pan served the same basic role. Rufio’s casting call mentioned he was the leader of the Lost Boys, but why would he be if Peter Pan is supposed to be?

I approve of this casting decision. She certainly has a Tink look to her. Fun fact, this is what Tink’s original reference model and voice actress looked like. I see a bit of a resemblance, especially the face:

True having mermaids in NL doesn’t mean we’re getting Ariel but if you’re going to do her story, what better time than when you’ve already set up mermaids in the world? Also, if we don’t get her soon I fear for the writers because the fans are slightly rabid for her by this point.

But Adam & Eddy did say that they want to do her story right and not rush into it just to please fans sooner. Since I doubt Neverland will last the entire Season, we may get Ariel in the 2nd half of the Season instead. Or, perhaps Neal and MAP run into Ariel in FTL. I doubt Neal will find a quick way back to Storybrooke, so he and MAP need something to do while he’s stuck in FTL.

    A few things:
    1) Never expected her to be the fun fairytale character as the original story is DARK DARK DARK. I want a mix of the two.

    2) I don’t think them calling her a fairytale character is evidence that she’s in FTL. Alice and Wonderland, Peter Pan, the Little Mermaid they are all just “fantasy” stories. It’s just that both Alice and Peter have their own lands in their stories so we expect that those lands already exist. Since Ariel doesn’t have a fantasy land associated with her story, she can be anywhere.

Technically speaking, the Little Mermaid and Hans Christian Andersen’s stories are considered “fairy tales”, while Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland are not. I’m still siding with Ariel being in FTL because that is typically the home of fairy tale characters. I would say Adam & Eddy not knowing when to introduce her yet implies that they don’t necessarily just want to lump Ariel into Neverland just because there happens to be mermaids there. Seeing mermaids will certainly be something that will happen in Neverland, but that doesn’t mean we have to see Ariel among them.

Finally getting to see Peter Pan is what I am most excited about. Plus, we can finally stop theorizing that every new male character will be Peter Pan once we see him in the flesh, which used to be the case for Bae too. Ironically, many people thought Bae and Peter were one in the same. 😆

Aside from that, seeing Ariel sometime this Season is a must. We’ve been waiting for her since forever, and we missed out on the chance to see her when she was originally teased as a Season 2 thing. However they show her, I just want to see her ASAP!

Sebastian Stan had already been in Captain America when he was on Once, so he was already fairly well known.
