ModeratorAnother spoiler tweet!
[adrotate group="5"]February 25, 2013 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Foreshadowing seen when rewatching older episodes #175518MatthewPaul
ModeratorThis has been pointed out before, but in “True North”, Emma describes Henry’s dad as “a fireman”, when she tells the fabricated story about him. Another possible play on words with Baelfire’s name.
In “7:15 AM” , August teases Emma about what is inside his box:
August: You really want to know what’s inside it, don’t you?
Emma: No. Well, maybe.
August: I’m going to make you wait. You’re going to have to wait a long time and watch me carry it around. Hauling it to strange and mysterious places. And with each passing moment, the mystery will become more tantalizing. Your imagination will inflame, but so will your frustration. Never knowing – only guessing – what could possibly be inside that box? Or, you could let me buy you a drink sometime and I’ll tell you right now.
This could be seen as foreshadowing that the same exact box is used again in “Tallahassee”, except we don’t find out what is inside until “Manhattan.” It also happens to be the typewriter inside yet again, aside from the piece of paper in it that says “I know you’re Baelfire.”
In “Hat Trick”, Regina says that she knows what happens to those who cross the Queen of Hearts “better than most.” Of course, we later find out that it was because the Queen of Hearts was Cora all along.

Yeah the “Every Single Week” bit is pretty laughable. We’ve had how many hiatuses just this second half of the season so far???!
To be fair, we’re actually going to get at least 4 straight weeks of new episodes starting this coming Sunday. We won’t get another hiatus until the end of March/early April, and that will be the last one of the Season.
Season 1 actually had just as many hiatuses during the Spring as this Season. There was a 2 week hiatus between “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree” and “Skin Deep”, for the Super Bowl. There was another 2 week hiatus between “What Happened to Frederick” and “Dreamy”, for the Oscars. Finally, there was a 3 week hiatus between “The Stable Boy” and “The Return.” I think what helped with Season 1 was that when it returned after the Holidays, it aired 4 straight weeks of episodes before going on a break for 2 weeks. With Season 2 after the Holidays, we only got 3 straight weeks of episodes followed by a 3 week long break.

The fact that they would debate whether or not to change their game plan is what concerns me more than anything…hate it when fans and fan reactions drive the story rather than what the writers originally planned…however I applaud them for sticking with their game plan….hope they continue to do so.
Same here, and just wanted to post that to clarify that Bae being Henry’s father was not the result of fan theorists. However, I have a feeling that if the Baelfire is Peter Pan theory becomes true, that could have been an idea resulting from fan influence, or at least something not thought of until Season 2.

ModeratorJust for clarification, the creators confirmed on the latest official podcast that they had planned Baelfire to be Henry’s father back in Season 1. However, since so many of us figured it out so long ago, they had debated about changing Henry’s father to someone else. They decided to stick with their original plan, though, because the scenario was too ideal to alter.

I really can’t theorize much with the information given…
When it comes to what I want, though, and what would go best writing-wise, I rather hope Tamara doesn’t have a FTL identity and that she’s actually HER. It would tie up the strings nicely and advance the new villain after Cora’s death, which I expect is going to have something to do with Storybrooke encountering the “real world” in Season 3.
Agreed. Not every new character introduced has to have a secret FTL identity. I’m finding the whole “mysterious FTL identity” thing overdone at this point, especially since the curse has been broken. I’m all for new characters who aren’t actually from FTL, but can still serve an intriguing purpose in the series. It leaves the door open to more original ideas, and helps the show not continue to be as predictable as it has been.

ModeratorI still think Tamara won’t have a FTL identity. Just because she is with Neal, who people think is Peter Pan or a Lost Boy, does not mean she has to be a Peter Pan character. As for why she is allowed in Storybrooke, perhaps Neal trusts her enough and has the town make an exception for her.

ModeratorOn the official podcast recapping this episode, the creators outright said that Henry was the prophesied boy, so I don’t think it will be anyone else.

ModeratorRecasting Jefferson is out of the question. Sebastian Stan is perfect in the role, and I’m afraid nobody else can do the role justice.
