ParticipantOriginal Peter Pan compared with ‘The Neck or Nix’
Pan’s a nature spirit thatΒ never grows up therefor he is deprived of humanity and a soul. He wants is though.. he just doesnt know what to give to get it. He has to give up his ‘eternal boy-life’ to get actual life and ‘true love’ But he is afraid of change.
The Neck (Water spirit from old Scandinavian folklore) Lures people to come to him, by his otherworldly beautiful music. When he catches them he brings them with him into his nature World down the Waters of the springs and lakes, the human is never seen Again if taken by the Neck
Same as how Peter Pan wants Wendy to stay with him and never grow old.
What the Neck wants is a human spirit or love he wants to be loved and he wants to be human. In an old Danish poem he wants to be forgiven and to make Peace with God. He wants eternal life but thinks he must take it for himself instead of give it- through giving his ‘life’-childhood and grow old and die.. change is what he is afraid of.
He is persieved to be a free nature-spirit.. but what kind of freedom is this, when he is stuck in a a place of never-change alas the ‘Neverland’
In the old folklore of the Neck. The Neck once in a while demanted a human sacrifice- then a cry would be heard from the river that “The time is here, but not yet the boy/man” and that ment that soon someone would be taken be the Neck.
Like Henry was by Pan.
I dont know really where Im going with this maybe nowhere, but thought it was interesting π

ParticipantShe is very good ! she wrote the song herself right ? ‘sounds like a hit to me, good for her and thanks for pointing the video out to us who hadn’t seen it π

ParticipantYes exactly !! π You can also find similariaties in the phrase: The sins of the father. Wich is true in Rumples case. His father was a coward so he must be a coward too, maybe thats why Milah really didn’t want Rumple to return home, because now he was a coward, so that must mean their son would become one too- because everyone would speak of him like that. The son of a coward.
It’s really quite scary to think that it might very well work this way in the real world too π―

ParticipantI read in a nother spoiler somewhere that there is no coming back from murder- Yes! ofcourse not.. it can never be undone. So who is it that a murderer needs to ask for forgiveness, who should forgive them ? The family of the victim maybe never will and understandable enough. The victim ofcourse can not… Does this then make that person evil and then thats just that ? In my opinion that is only and effort to push them away from being human- “They are not like us!” ergo:they are just evil, so because we are not like them this does not concern us. Enybody seen that Milgram experiment ? We are all capable of doing wrong things if we are put under the right circumstances.
Okay I know this prob. belong in a nother thread, so I will stop babbling on now π I just feel very passionate about this topic.Grimmsister

Another spoiler tweet!
Regina refusing to acknowledge her faults, again. She is all “but it’s not my fault, it’s Snows!”
I really think she shouldn’t be redeemed as long as she won’t admit, take responsibility and ask forgiveness for the wrong she has done.
This is really the essence of what I find to be one of the most interesting things about this show. I agree with you SerDragon that you’ve gotta be able to see and acknowledge your own mistakes and so does Regina. But… yes there is a but.. People become the words that are spoken about them. Meaning if you keep calling someone evil, thats what they will become because its how they are then percieved by the people around them- AND in the end the way they percieve themselves.
With this show and this story it is a good way to point to this believe. Because fairytale characters are VERY defined by (their story..ofcourse) the words asociated with them. In the original Fairytale Snow White, it is impossible to see the Evil Queen as enything but Evil because she is the Evil Queen- Its the snake biting its own tale, kind of a thing- the circel that never ends.
Coming back to our Regina. She was A queen, it was someone else, the story, the storyteller, us- who aded the Evil to her name. She IS not evil, no human being is evil in their essence. Evil is a constructed word or idea. There are wrong acts and right acts acording to what direction the action-taker wants to go ( okay this’ getting to philosophical and think i’m floating abit far of the ground, I’m not really very good at explaining this..)
Anyways Regina is Regina, a human being, not an evil being.. We become the words that are spoken about us. We become a story about ourselves…….. Does enybody get what I’m trying to say π π π

ParticipantI would love comments on this theory-
The Original power that Blue supposedly is- is like a God or The God. And doesnβt the story in the Old Testament, about Lucifer, go something like- Lucifer was originally Gods favorite Angle until it did something to defy God and go against his wishes- That is how Lucifer became a fallen Angel and the personification of evil…? So I’m thinking something like this:
*The Blue Fairy=God
*The Dark One=Lucifer(the devil)
*The Dark One was ones good and on the same side as The Blue Fairy (and called something else but dark- Maybe The Light One? Think about how Lucifer actually translates from, is it Latin I think, into The Light One)
*So The Light One was a force of good, until the day He/She did something to defy The Blue Fairy (hrm! used His/Hers own free will) and therefore was cast out, and became the Dark One.
What you think βSo now The Blue Fairy is trying to ‘correct her mistake’ so to speak, meaning destroy the power of the Dark One (the power being the Dark Ones free will??) Blue therefore creates the dagger- With the dagger the Dark one has no free will- but Blue cannot control the dagger…She is trying to Undo The Dark One :hence- ‘The boy will be your undoing’…. So something about the curse and everything that’s happened has been for Blue to get back in control and eliminate free will in the human beings/fairytale characters β

ParticipantSomeone ‘played’ her- you know, pulled some strings to make their marriage fail. If Rumple had come home to a happy ever after situation, he might not have needed to become the dark one. Milah was a bent on the road to his downfall that needed stretching out so it wouldn’t become a problem.. down the road π maybe…

Participantfun idea this thread!
Could we include whether or not we believe in Truw Wove (true love in case you where wondering)
in fairytaleland vs. real world ? just an idea..age: 29
marital status: single
ship: wholeheartedly Grumpy and Nova, because they were so sweet together, actually Dreamy is still one of my favorite episodes… and because of the ‘ship’ thing I find it fun to say I ship them, when Grumpy says he wanted to sail around the world with Nova on a ship/boat π (dont worry, I know I have a weird sence of humor. I never shipped anyone, before I could actually ship them of on a ship π sorry!).. And, have this image in my head, of them sailing away on the black night sea reflecting the stars.Ship: Emma and Neal, because they fit.. and because Swanfire is- burning swan, wich is- Phoenix bird, wich is- new life from the ashes π
Do I believe in true love
Fairytaleland: Yes.. its a tradition there. There is magic there and people are made for eachother.
Real world: No.. I believe atraction is biology and love is something that grows out of time and mutual experiences.Grimmsister
ParticipantAww! π
Right Phee- “Man up Regina !!” Sjees !. Well I guess we can’t really say strategic intelligence has ever been her thing.
Ouat- HAHA π !!! that was a good one. Did you make it yourself ??
RumpleGirl- Yes I agree that it should be Regina who defeats her mother in the end and not somebody else.
