Her whole reasoning for changing had been for Henry. Not Snow White or Emma. She should want to change because it is the right thing to do.
She should want to and she should BELIEVE that she can change. That’s my point, belief is everything. And right now everyone, including Regina, believes she can’t be anybody but the stereotype Evil Queen she was in fairytaleland, but as Emma on one occasion states “She is not the evil Queen here, she is Regina”
Henry is her motivation for change right now and not remorse, and he is the one thing they are keeping away from her. Don’t get me wrong I understand them to a surtain extend, he is a kid and they are afraid for him. But they don’t see that, that is exactly what is keeping Regina their enemy and keeping her in the role as evil.
Henry in glimpses did show Regina a better way and she did follow him but only breafly and not long enough for remorse of her wrong actions to start to sink in.
Look at it this way- If a person is lost in the woods at night and can’t find the right path home to the town- they see a light- they follow it- when they get closer to the town, the light brightens up the path and they can start following the path again instead of the light.
Henry is Reginas light, and it’s okay for him to be her motivation to change, remorse will come later. But not if Emma and the Charmings keep Henry and Regina apart.[adrotate group="5"]Oh! Wait… by the Seer, it was foretold…. so not in the show, that we have seen yet… okay, get it now 😆

When have this been foretold? anyone have an idea ? Maybe in the episode where Bealfire goes through the bean portal. Think I will rewatch that ep. to see. But it could be any episode…It’s not Eww! to be a shipper regardless. Hell I ship Jaime and Cersei Lannister and they are brother and sister 😕 though perhabs in real life I would be more hesitant.
On this show I most passionately ship Grumpy and Nova, but I’m afraid that ship has sailed already..

As sad as her circumstances are, she has to be held responsbile for her actions. And so far, she hasn’t really. She has never shown remorse and never once even tried to apolgoize.
Question for this statement is. Who is going to deside the correct amount of remorse and responsibility taking ? Isn’t that always based on the feelings of the involved parties. And who knows if they ever feel the same about it. In real life she would go to prison for a long time for killing her father and multible attempt to kill her daughter in law. But thats probably not going to be the case here and isn’t it funny that most of us think that it shouldn’t ? Ofcourse because we don’t want to loose her as our entertainment 😀

I know Emma has given Regina a chance, but you indicated that people were being nicer to Regina than she deserves, which says to me that you don’t think people actually should give her a chance. Treating her like garbage is not how you give someone a chance.

When did they treat her as garbage? They never cursed at her–they mostly just avoid her as much as possible. The only time they were rude was in The Cricket Game when Regina came to dinner,
I don’t think they treat her like garbage, most of them, people like Snow and Emma mostly try to give her a fair chance. The problem is then circumstances get in the way. Most heartbreaking lately was
‘The presumed murder of the Cricket’ insident. When Emma said to Regina “We know who you are and who you will always be!”- meaning; You will always be the evil queen and there’s not a thing either we or more importantly you, can ever do to change it.
Regina believes that and that is what she has gone with her whole life. Because she believes, that is her “role” she will always be stuck in it. Until the day she, or somebody, shows her she CAN change.I just want to give her a hug and tell her she’s not alone ! But right now in Storybrook, she is 🙁

I think she’s good, but, I do think she has her own agenda (what her agenda is, I don’t know at this point)…but, I think she’ll do whatever she can to make things work in her favor and if that means lying, she’ll lie.
If that means not helping when she could have, then she’ll stay out of it.What exactly is good about that ?
She has her OWN agenda + she makes things work in HER favor + LYING + NOT HELPING when she could have = One very selfish ….. but that’s just my opinionI’m one of those followers of ‘the scheming fairies theory 🙂
Blue Fairy was the one who started the talk about there being no more beans, maybe she wanted people to believe that. And I believe she worked behind the scenes in casting the curse on Fairytaleland. I don’t think she workes alone, but that there are more ‘bad’ fairies. In original fairytales the fairies are never ‘the good guys’ they are the ones who lure people in the the dark woods and kidnappes them 😀
Another thing, I think nurse Ratched (Belles evil nurse) is on of the scheming super bad fairies..About how long it takes the beans to grow- In a nother post titled ‘Greg Mendel theory’ Leveskria (sorry if misspelled) points out that Gregor Mendel has possibly arrived in Storybrook now and can ‘science up’ the beans to make them grow faster- For further eloboration go look for that post 😀
We saw him get killed at the beginning. When he thought he had killed that other guy and turned his back on him to gloat with his friends.
I don’t think the writers are trying to answer the question ‘nature vs. nurture’ but just look at it from different ancles. And the adoption aspect ‘growing up out of your nature’ is one ancle. Henry for sure have some of his biological parents in him. How about Emma though, does she have any Charming attributes ?
You’re right Snow allways believes in the good in people. But maybe that makes her blind to some things. I don’t think she can comprehend the thought that David could have been as bad as his twin brother.
I think that it is a romantic idea that people are born with a surtain kind of ‘soul’ or heart or whatever. And I doo think that Snow believes in that.
