Less than two weeks til a new episode, and I have to say I found myself getting really excited today to see Regina and Robin meet!!! Oh just can’t wait!!!

So this hiatus has been way too long, huh? But…. We are less than two weeks away from New York Serenade. I’ve been trying to stay away from reading too much information about the rest of the season, but I finally caved and wow is there a lot of info- took me a few days to catch up here! Anyway, I want to add a bit of hope and my theories for season 3b since it looks like we might have some sad Swanfire shippers today. (Sorry in advance if some of these theories have already been brought up).
I truly don’t believe that Neal is the one to bite the dust. There is just too much of his story left to tell, plus as an original character, there are no limits on where to take him in the future. He can be like the Forrest Gump of fairy tale stories, and I really do believe that Adam and Eddy love his character and if the death is story related, it would make no sense to kill off Neal. How could they not give Henry his happy ending? I have no doubt that Henry sees his happy ending as a life with Emma, Regina and Neal. And really killing any three of these people would definitely make the Truest Believer stop believing in the possibility of a happy ending. What kind of message would that send in a show about hope?
Also, if MRJ wants to leave the show, then he has been doing quite a bit of Once promotion on twitter. Doing the #askMRJ and acknowledging fans is one thing, but re-tweeting promo articles and pictures is another. MRJ is a stand up guy, but the Once promotion would be a little odd if he asked to leave, especially since he does not have to do it on his twitter.
As far as the recent articles about the new episode, I truly think that there is just a Captain Swan bias in the writers. I mean, if I were writing a spoilery article about the new episode, you would bet that I would put a Swanfire bias to what I was writing! Emma may not say the reason she lives in New York is because of Neal because when asked, she doesn’t remember that Neal lived there. But she may say that she was drawn to New York because something in the city felt familiar. Or, she may just say New York has the best schools for Henry… we don’t know. But think about this, Emma probably doesn’t know why she decided to play “Charlie’s Girl” the morning Hook came a knocking, but that doesn’t mean that song is not connected with Neal.
Since MRJ hasn’t been seen filming lately, I really think the reason is because he is spending time in studio with Robert Carlyle. Since Rumple is believed to be dead, they would of course keep him out of sight as much as possible as far as filming goes. And I think that while Neal is looking or making his way back to Henry and Emma, the writers are going to focus a lot of his story with his Father and how they work together now that they have repaired their relationship. I loved how they worked together in 3×04 and Rumple and Neal still have a lot to learn about each other. That relationship is one I think Adam and Eddy really want to see grow, and I for one would love to see the two of them trusting each other and working towards a common goal through a longer period of time- without the whole “Rumple trying to kill Henry” thing. How much fun would it be to see Rumple asking Neal how he learned how to do certain things and to see them bond! And if this relationship is being explored, then it makes sense that we haven’t really seen much of MRJ filming with everyone else. And of course, it is just too easy to put Neal and Emma together so quickly…. Remember that Charming and Snow were separated and reunited several times in Fairytale land in season one before they were finally together in the finale. If Emma and Neal are apart for most of the season, it will make their reunion that much more special. 😉 I mean, how beautiful was it when they hugged in the cave?
Keep the Swanfire hope alive! I have hope that our sweet little family will have a happy ending.

Quick question for your guys. I have been reading through the forms and there are a few acronyms I can’t seem to decipher. Could you tell me what “OTP” and “Canon” stand for? I finally figured some of the others out (For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what RG was, but then realized it was short for RumplesGirl 😉 ) but these are the two I can’t seem to figure out!

I’ve been lurking in this thread a little while and just wanted to tell you all thank you for posting such pretty Swanfire things and thoughts!
Honestly, I didn’t know what a ship was until a few weeks ago and just came on this site to see thoughts about Neal and Emma after I found myself a little unhappy with the little screen time between Neal and Emma in the midseason finale.
I’m just a loyal OUAT viewer- Don’t normally look at spoilers (until now!) and been seeing a few comments in this thread about what a casual viewer might think about the CSF love triangle. Just wanted to let you all know that until episode 5 (the CS kiss), I didn’t realize there was a love triangle- just thought that Emma and Neal NEEDED to find each other in Neverland and how tragic it was that she thought he was still dead. To me, I always thought Emma and Neal were endgame but can’t be together yet because… well most shows don’t put their endgame couple together without a few obstacles. And my mom and I watched all of season 3 over the holiday break (she hadn’t seen any season 3 episodes so we had a OUAT marathon!) and my mom had actually forgotten a lot of info from season 2 and somehow got it in her mind that Neal and Emma were married- she kept calling Neal Emma’s husband (lol). Sorry, I am rambling, but I just wanted to give you all a little insight in how a casual viewer might see the whole love triangle thing.
I did want to say that I am a big fan of Hook and wished they had given him a better storyline in the first part of season 3. Would still love to see the deal he made with Pan to get out of Neverland and how he and Bae kept in contact after he let the lost boys take Bae from the Jolly Roger… I mean, how did he know where Bea’s cave was? Did they ever reconcile about Milah? After rewatching the season 2 finally, it was pretty clear to me that the reason Hook went to Neverland with Emma and the gang was because he felt he needed to help Bae’s son because of some kind of father-like relationship with Bea and regret that he let the lost boys take Bae in the first place. I would love to see some real Neal and Hook interaction this second half of the season because I just love both these characters.
Oh- my thoughts on the midseason finally: (Sorry this is so long… turns out I’ve had a lot of thoughts about OUAT I needed to write down) What I really wanted to see was Neal’s little conversation with Henry once Emma started heading towards the bug. I love that father-son relationship, and wish they had shown what Neal told Henry, but I imagine Neal said “Don’t worry buddy- I’ll find you and your mom. Family always finds each other”. I know Neal was trying to keep things light so Henry would not get too worried. I think that it was so brave and selfless of Neal to do that so Henry could have hope to see him again. After watching the episode again I noticed that as Regina was telling Emma about escaping the curse and Snow is telling her that she has touched the lives of everyone there is a brief shot of Neal and his face as he is registering that Emma and Henry are leaving him. To me, there seems like panic in his eyes about losing the two people he loves most, but you can almost tell he is formulating some sort of plan right there to see them again.
Anyway… just wanted to say how much I adore the whole Swanfire Family! Writing some of my thoughts down was a lot of fun! I might be popping in here and there adding to the Swanfire love. Thank you guys for posting such beautiful things- can’t wait until March!
