Amen, obisgirl. The film had so much potential, but stole from so many other existing films, books, etc (Princess Mononoke, hello???). A pity. Charlize Theron was good, however.
Another film is Finding Neverland (2004) with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. It’s about James M. Barrie and how he came to write the book. edited to add: I probably should have named the book, lol. Peter Pan, of course. ๐ Quite dramatic, but I enjoyed it back then. Then again, it’s been 8 years. ๐
Pan’s Labyrinth is also a great pick and although it hasn’t anything to do with fairy tales, the fantastical element is greatly embedded. The story is truly great, though it helps to know a bit about the time while Spain was ruled by the dictator Franco (just a little bit, no need to go too deep, unless you’re interested). Also, only watch if you’re not easily afraid! It sometimes is categorized as fantasy, but really it’s horror โฆ I don’t like horror, but did enjoy this film, because it had a deep and meaningful story, but there are some scenes that truly are disgusting/frightening. Don’t watch alone or with children โฆ

Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” This song always, always, ALWAYS makes me think of Belle and Rumpel and how long they were separated from each other. ๐ฅ
That song is the most used in OUaT-fan videos. I’ve lost count on how many times it’s been used. It also took me forever to realise that that’s the song Perri wrote for Breaking Dawn 1 โฆ
Another song that reminds me of Belle is Vestido Azul by La Oreja de Van Gogh. It’s a Spanish group. Translated the song means blue dress and the lyrics is about this girl who’s been left by he boyfriend (standard, ha ha). I like the lyrics and though the situation is not 100 % like Rumbelle’s it has many similarities.
miaParticipantThere have been guesses, that Anastasia is somehow related to Anastasia Romanov, who is a historical person, but her story has become kind of a fairy tale (also, because there’s that film, not from Disney). Magnolia, as the rumor mill goes, could be a mix of Mulan and Pocahontas. ^^
Anyway, it does sound interesting and I’m looking forward to see their stories.miaParticipantYou can still change your vote, Antbee. Just click on another name and submit again.
miaParticipantStronger by Kelly Clarkson reminds me of both Emma and Snow. And Red. And Cinderella. I guess, every strong person on the show, lol, but mostly Emma and Snow. ^^
Probably also, because there’s a Snow fan video with the song โฆ
edited to add Glad You Came, originally by The Wanted, but I only know the Glee Cast version. I always icture Henry being glad that Emma came to Storybooke, even though the lyrics are about lovers. Who cares? ^.^

Great mental image!miaParticipantWho photoshoped that? It has really weird proportions! o.รด
Otherwise it’s a really cool arrangement! I just hope we don’t get to see that dress! The ones on the show are much better! Except the wedding dress, but that’s just my opinion. ๐ I know lots of people like it. -
