The heartbeat thing really comes down to the question whether it’s the actual heart that’s ripped out or just a “magical”. I believe it’s the latter, thus he’d have a heartbeat no matter what. My explanation is a biological one and one that I think no magic can explain away. How would Graham have been alive otherwise? If he had no heart, his blood wouldn’t flow and he’d be dead, he’d be cold. The only way he’d be able not to have an actual heart is, if he were indeed cold with no blood and thus a zombie … The curse could make one feel as if he was warm and had a heartbeat then. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense that he doesn’t have a real heart.
That’s why I think the ripped out hearts aren’t the actual hearts, but “magical” ones, hearts that also take away your feelings – we all know nowadays that the feelings lie in the brain, not the heart, but back then they believed so – and thus allowing the person to continue living even though he’d be ripped of everything else. This way the person would also have a heartbeat. Curse or no curse.

I’m just pointing this out, because I was thinking about this just after watching that wooden leg scene and went on question whether the whole Graham&Emma scene was also because of her denial. I don’t think so. The logic of the hearts wouldn’t allow it for me. Then again, the creators can’t think of everything and maybe someone here will come up with a good explanation of how someone could still be alive without an actual heart (and without any machines).

    Back to Emma:
I believe that what August said is right, her denial is clouding her vision. But, there’s the hope we’ll see some development and answers this next episode. 🙂

I watch it online Monday mornings for breakfast. My courses start in the afternoon, so it’s a great way to start the day. I usually re-watch it either that in the course of the week, so that I find what I’ve missed and am up to date for the next episode.
Can’t wait for the DVD to come out! It’s much more convenient.

Yup, yup! I’ve noticed that, too! I tried a few other podcasts, but this one just perfect. I keep laughing half of it. Especially when Daniel tries to pronounce something, sry Daniel, it’s too funny! 😀

If there are truly two hats – and it seems probable at this point – I wonder if the two are connected. YOu know, like a wormhole …

Oh, btw, thanks for the apple butter explanation. I only know apple mousse and jam …

Did Rumpel tell her that? Oh Queenie, I’m creating an evil curse, just for you, in case you might need it one day to wreak horrible vengeance on that Snow White. Either that or Regina thinks everything is about her.

I was actually imagining Robert Carlyle saying that. 😆 Took me a while to see that was actually you, obisgirl, lol.
