In my opinion it’s not that Gold is just evil. Yes, he has evil inside him, but he doesn’t do the things he does because he’s evil. He does them, because they have a bigger purpose behind them. He also isn’t good. He’s selfish. I think – like others in different posts – that he wants to rid himself of the curse without having to die or pass the Dark One’s power to anyone else. He’s been planning this for centuries (possibly the deal he makes with Bae in the next episode) and Emma is just the means to get there. She has some major role in there and all other deals he’s made are somehow linked to that.@hjbau wrote:

I always liked that scene, because it somehow showed how her life must have been up until that moment. There aren’t that many people who just can’t trust people at all, ending up friendless. And Emma makes such a good friend. Probably exactly because she’s never truly had one …@obisgirl wrote:

Granny says Red started transforming when she was 12 or 13, right? That is a normal age when the menstrual cicle starts. There could be that connection. Or it’s just because it’s the supposed start of puberty. Somehow I really like the idea that it should work that way. 🙂
