That would make sense since it’s another Star Wars nod. Obi Wan Kenobi was called “Old Ben” on Tatooine and Luke’s uncle was names Owen.
Yes, and Luke Sky Walker’s son was named Ben as well.
With Greg being called an outsider and now Ben and Owen being called the same thing, have to wonder who Greg Mendell really is. Peter Pan keeps popping into my head.
I would think that if Greg was a storybrook character of any kind they would not call him an outsider….he would just be another character from another world like Whale/Dr. Frankenstein…and they don’t call him an outsider. Then again maybe they are just keeping mum about it that way.I do think there is a possibility that Greg is the adult version of Owen though.
lol kind of get the feeling that the outsiders of OUaT equals the others of Lost at this point.

These Ben and Owen characters are doing my head in. Just watch, every single one of our frillion theories for them will end up being wrong.
My theories almost always end up wrong but it’s fun to guess…bad when you have guessed almost every possible way things can be and still end up being wrong. lol

ParticipantI thought I heard the writers discussing this somewhere before…that deep down Victor thought that if he could bring back the dead he could bring back his mother to make his father happy. It turned out that the experiment wound up being on his brother instead but the reason behind it began with his mother’s death. I could be mistaken about it but I thought I heard it on one of the podcasts.

ParticipantGood news…that sounds like it will definitely be this season…I was thinking they might drag it out.

If he is Bae. Magic cost him so much. It doesn’t matter good magic or dark magic. Both of them cost him so much. I think too that when he saw the magical object, being or whatever in the box, it was really ripping his heart out again, but for me he his Bae and as Rumple said of Bae he was always the better man and so he choose to let Emma rescue the people, find her family and if he knew that it was his father, trying to clean his mess, because a part of him thinks he is guilty for the curse too and was sad that he was the reason why his father became what he is and his leaving, that caused the curse.
Exactly…He had been with Emma and knew her pain…that was evident when August said he had been looking for her the last two years and Neal snapped back and said “…Two years…where were you the rest of her life”. I got the feeling that she had shared a lot of her pain with him…told him things she had told no one else…and then he finds out that all her pain…everything she had gone through…growing up without her parents was all because of him (if he is Bae…and I think he is).
Talk about being devastated. This was the one person he wanted to take care of…to make sure never got hurt again…and not only (in his mind) is he responsible for her pain…what he’s got to do next (have her arrested) to give her back everything she lost (her parents) is going to cause her even more pain…he can’t win. I’ve said this before and I’ll probably say it again…I think Nealfire’s story is the most tragic story on the show. Every time he tries to do the right thing, nothing but heartache and disappointment come his way.

ParticipantDamien’s a great name…it just reminds me too much of Vampire Diaries. Cora referred to him as Master…a name that has master for a meaning might work.

Participantlol I thought I was the only one that had a name stuck in their head for Gold…my pick…Phineas. I looked it up and the Hebrew meaning is oracle…kind of fits with the whole prophecy thing. Now watch it be something like Bob. 😆

Well with what I saw on twitter this morning, this whole subject might be useless before long. Colin O’Donoghue might be really sick and if he is, we’re probably going to be loosing Hook anyway, and this won’t even matter anymore.
Yeah I saw a post about it on the abc.com forums…I wouldn’t put much stock in it unless it’s from the horse’s mouth. I know some people have gotten upset that he hasn’t been posting on twitter much recently…I always take it as a good sign when some of the actors aren’t posting…it probably means they’re working…or at least that’s the way I like to see it.

ParticipantMRJ is pretty awesome in that scene…in the whole episode actually but that scene is what really stands out to me (dramatically at least…I loved his more humorous moments just as much)…I loved his defensive almost jealous tone when August first mentions Emma and he says How do you know Emma…If August hadn’t answered right I almost think he would have gotten slugged imo. And the expressions he had when August first started talking to him about Emma and the curse after he had seen into that box…he didn’t have to say a word…it looked like his heart was being ripped out right there.

Were Emma and Mr Gold on a bus or did I watch that sceen wrong? If they were it didn’t look like he was enjoying the ride.
Think that was where he was going through airport security and I don’t think any of us enjoy that very much…lol
