^But the magic that Regina possessed before the Dark Curse was not the product of true love. It was dark magic. This new magic has been created from true love. It might have a different set of rules than dark magic.

I just hope if he IS Bae then the father isn’t immediately white-washed. I kinda LIKE the idea that Bae had trouble adjusting to our world, had some troubles, bitterness and actually made some mistakes regarding Emma. It was over 10 years ago, obviously he could have shaped up since then. Fine. But I don’t want it to come off like Emma just didn’t give him a chance blah blah. If Henry’s father goes from “not a good guy” to just “misunderstood” I’m going to be annoyed.

Whoever Henry’s father is, I would like to see Snow and Charming be a little more interested in it eventually as well. Emma’s convo with MM about him in “True North” practically makes him sound evil so love to see some parental concern on their part about him.

As for Bae, father or not, I hope his stance on magic isn’t suddenly changed either. And that all this time away from Rumpel doesn’t instantly make him soft on him.

I suppose Bae and Emma happening to run into each other doesn’t bug me as much as it could though. While it’s entirely too convenient for dramatic purposes, it still makes sense in this sort of “other worldly connection” sort of way. Like those rare odds where separately adopted siblings feel an inexplicable draw towards each other prior to realizing WHY they felt so close. (Or in less creepy circumstances, when a separated mother/child almost instantly recognize each other after decades.)

Heh, in Fringe, things from alternate universes have a different frequency they give off. So I could kinda see the former residents of the Enchanted Forest all having their own frequency that may make them more likely than normal to find each other.

But would it be so hard to imagine that Emma’s viewpoint may be a bit scewed? I have a feeling that both Emma and Bae’s viewpoints will be quite biased. There’s an old saying that goes “there’s her side, there’s his side, and then there’s the truth.” Or something to that effect.

He wants his power back and he wants to find Bae. Are we supposed to think there is something else besides that?

Who knows. His plans are never what they seem. Rumpel always has something up his sleeves. He always has a plan A,B and C.

TVLine: Why did Rumple restore magic in Storybrooke?
Question: Probably a stupid question, but in the Once Upon a Time finale, did Rumple restore the magic β€” even if it meant empowering Regina β€” because he was so ticked about Belle being hidden away so long? β€”Joshua

Ausiello: You are correct β€” that was a stupid question. ”His plan was set in motion long before he knew that Belle was alive,” notes exec producer Adam Horowitz. β€œ So all his actions in the finale were part of something else going on. When he discovers that Belle is alive and that Regina had her locked away, that’s a wrinkle in his plan and something that he must deal with in Season 2 while he also deals with whatever agenda he already has (hey, we’re not gonna spill that just yet!).”

WHOA!!! Great find! Thanks for posting this.

I knew he had an alterior motive. But I’m still not clear on exactly what that is yet. I guess we’ll find out in a few months. πŸ˜‰

I’ve been imagining Gold taking Rumple to task: “Yes, people feared you; yes, they admired your knowledge and abilities, but they didn’t respect you. You were a cartoon character to them.”

Rumple: “And you have all the animation of a cardboard box. You’re boring, old boy. People went to great lengths to seek me out, but they hide when they see you coming. You think that’s because they fear you but the fact is, you put them to sleep.”

Gold: “It was your emotionality that drove Belle away. If you had approached the situation reasonably, you could have kept her and your power.”

Rumple: “You’re not so wise as you think, old man, if you believe you can have her and magic too. You will have to choose.”

    Gold: “After I find Bae.”

Rumple: “After we find Bae. It will take both of us.”

    Gold: “Both of us.”

I also don’t think what happened between Emma and Graham was love. Were they attracted to each other? Of course. But physical attraction doesn’t qualify as love. But I do agree that had Graham survived, they might have developed something very strong.

But the kiss between them still confuses me. True love’s kiss is what breaks curses. True love. I can’t help but think that the writers wrote that scene before Skin Deep was completed. It seems as though the writers didn’t have their mythology in regards true love in order until that episode was written.
