I think in the first couple of episodes in season 2 will revolve around why exactly Rumepl needs his power, and I truly believe it has to do with this “final battle”, and that in fairy-tale world it will pick off with Snow/Charming take the kingdom, which will result in some serious consequences which will result into the “final” battle. I mean, the way Gold said “there is something that I must do” kinda gave me chills up my spine, like there is something that only he can do, and for the moment he has to sacrifice a proper reunion and save it for later.
I agree. The final battle is coming and Rumpel is going to be in trouble if he doesn’t have his powers. ๐ฎ

ParticipantHmm…Kitsis only listed Emma, Snow, Charming and Rumpel as the show’s “core” characters. I hope that wasn’t a clue that something bad will happen to Regina. ๐ฎ

I was disappointed that part 2 of the podcast did not discuss the scene where Belle reunited with Gold in his shop because I would have loved to hear their opinions on it. I decided to make a forum to let out some of my emotions on this intense moment and the dislike of the forest scene.
A lot of people are saying how the forest scene they shared illustrated how power hungry Rumple is and that he didnโt seem that concerned for Belle because he didnโt even bother to walk beside her. Thus, people think Rumpel does not deserve Belle. However, the first scene where they meet, you could see Gold’s heart shatter. Nearly sobbing, and wrapping his arms tightly around Belle, he promises to protect her. This is huge. He obviously cares deeply about Belle, especially because he let down his guard and told her he loves her. Not only that, but he seems to be figuring out how to put her into his centuries old plan as he rushes with her through the forest to complete it. Yes he was eager to get it down ,but at the same time would not let her out of his sight. (Notice at the very end he has his arm around her shoulder ;)). Also, by Gold saying “she did this to you” indicates he’ll be seeking revenge in the future. There will be more tension between Rumpel and Regina than ever thanks to Jefferson because he is munipulating Rumpel to do what he can’t (kill Regina)
Hopefully next season Belle and Rumpel will have the time to talk about a plan for the future. It is clear from Skin Deep Belle does not want to be a damsel in distress. So I’m sure she will not just play some pawn in Rumpels agenda. Like she said before in Skin Deep “There arenโt a lot of opportunities in this land to show what women can do” I really liked what obisgirl said about how Belle will act as Rumpel’s consonance. I heard that the first episode will be Rumpel centric with flashbacks of him.
WHAT?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? Ok, my heart just exploded with happiness!!!
Ok, now I’m more hyped than ever to see season 2! ๐
I thought Mr. Gold and Belle’s reunion in the shop was so unbelievably touching. Mr. Gold looked as though he had seen a ghost. And he probably thought that he was. He thought Belle had been dead for decades, and the thought of seeing her again never even crossed his mind. I also loved how he touched Belle’s shoulder just to see if she was real. He probably thought he was hallucinating.
For some reason, I didn’t have a problem with the second scene in the forest. I was too busy fangirling to notice anything negative. ๐ But before Belle arrived in Mr. Gold’s shop, he was already going forward with his plan to use the true love potion to bring magic to Storybrooke. So, that was going to be his plan no matter what. So no, Rumpel didn’t choose power over love again. He didn’t expect to see Belle again. And Belle ddin’t protest to what he was doing either. Yes, she did give a pretty big WTF look, but she didn’t say anything. ๐ It would be different is she told Rumpel to stop what he was doing and run away with her, and Rumpel refused and tossed her away, but that didn’t happen.

ParticipantI SIGNED IT!!!
But I doubt a petition is even needed for her. She’s probably going to become a series regular anyway. Or at the very least, a reoccurring character. ๐

Some people have suggested that Rumpel is a bit like an addict when it comes to magic. I like that theory. Rumpel’s been “clean” for 28 years whilst in Storybrooke but now that he’s brought magic to Storybrooke, he’s “falling off the wagon” so to speak.
I think you’re right. Magic is like a drug to him. His behavior, his actions, even his line of thinking is radically changed when he uses magic. Many of the things he did in Fairytale land, I couldn’t possibly see him doing in Storybrooke. Our at least that was until the season finale when he regained his powers.

I think the kiss is being saved for towards the end of the series. Rumpel’s going to sacrifice himself for the sake of Belle or Bae and Belle’s kiss is going to save his life and turn him back into a normal man. That’s my theory anyway.
Sweet Jesus, I hope you’re right!

ParticipantAs a Rumbelle shipper, I naturally chose Mr. Gold. However, she’d probably be better off living with Mary Margaret. MM can help steer her away from temptation and help her forgive and forget. ๐ But at the same time, I don’t really see Mr. Gold allowing Belle to live with MM. He said he’d protect her and he probably feels that he’s the only one who can do that.

I’m calling that Rumpel used the true love potion to have the power to do anything: including bringing people back to life. It is his “contingency plan” just in case his son died.
Ooo! That’s an interesting theory! A lot of people keep pointing out that Baelfire may already be dead, and there’s no way that possibility escaped Rumpel’s thought process. So, the true love potion may be able to bring people back to life. It’s already proven itself to be an effective antidote against curses that imitate death (sleeping curse). So, anything’s possibile.
