ParticipantAwesome! Robert Carlyle has been stealing every scene this season. He deserves every bit of success he gets. π
Hmm…I wonder why they put him in the leading male category? Oh well, I don’t care. Just as long as he gets recognition. π

I caught this little video on Seriable of Robert Carlyle talking about Rumple/Mr Gold and the real reason he created the curse for Regina … Gives some insight into this most compelling character. Enjoy!

ParticipantYeah, I’m pretty giddy too.!
I wonder what makes Belle’s role in the finale so significant? Will she help fight against Regina? Will she fight alongside Regina? Will she remember Mr. Gold? Will she have her memories? GAH!!!! 2 MORE WEEKS!!!

On one of Jane Espenson's tweets she was asked how big of a role Belle would play in the finale…she replied that we would be satisfied with her scenes..something to that effect
Oh yeah, I read those tweets. She also gave another interview saying that Belle's role in the finale would also be “very significiant.”

Me too. π₯ I feel weird being this in love with her character. She’s only had 2 episodes. π

I also love Belle. I’ll be so heartbroken is she’s killed off in the season finale. π₯ I’d hate if we were forced to wait all season for her return only for her to be killed as soon as she walks out of the asylum. π‘
Me, too. But on the other hand if she died, it would further fuel Rumpel to take down the Queen.
That’s EXACTLY what I was going to say. π

I just don’t see what the point would be of making a character who is already miserable even more miserable. We’ve already seen him go through the loss of the two people he loved. We’ve seen him dealing with the pain and guilt for centuries. If we were to see him experience yet another loss there wouldn’t be too much character development, I think. Something has to change to keep his story interesting and change the dynamics a bit. The writers can’t make him go through the same type of situation over and over again. That’s not good writing in my opinion.
I agree. His character has to go through ups and downs in order for him experience any proper character development. He’s already lost enough. Baelfire, Belle, his powers…his debt has already been payed.

In episode 18, we heard Daniel say that “love is the most powerful magic of all.” Since Emma is the product of true love, she may have her magic because of that love.
I believe that true love is part of it, but aren’t a lot of children born from true love? Of course not all, but a lot are. So, what exactly is it about Emma’s magic that makes her perfect for this curse? Snow and Charming didn’t have anything specifically magical about them, so why does Emma even have magic? I can’t help but think that she carries a fair bit of dark magic in her. Rumpel is using her as a tool to break this curse. She’s the key to breaking “the curse to end all curses.” And like stated before, she didn’t inherit any magic from her parents. So, this leads me to think that she has a mixture of good magic born from true love, and the dark magic that Rumpel infused her with to break the curse.
Ow, my head hurts. π

And I’m beginning to like August and the main reason is because he is far from perfect. This actually makes him human, which is kind of ironic considering the fact that he is in fact a wooden doll.
He did act selfishly, but let’s face it, children are selfish and concentrated on their own needs. He was a seven- year-old boy who found himself in a strange, hostile environment without the father he loved. When he was to choose between the group of children more or less his age, who he thought would help him survive and give him some support and the infant he barely knew, he chose the former. I think it was a natural thing to do.
So what he did as a child I wouldn’t judge so harshly. This is exactly how I feel right now. I like imperfect characters. I like characters with flaws and personal defects. This is why Rumpel and Regina are my favorite characters. The same goes for August. He made a mistake as a young child, and that mistake came back to haunt him in his adulthood. I actually think his story is rpetty tragic. π₯
