I hated the writing in this episode. Dr. Whale was suicidal, Regina was weak and predictable, Rumpel was making threats, Belle couldn’t remember who she was. And Cora…ugh…Cora. I have no words for that woman.

^I highly doubt Belle’s memory loss will be permament. Early on the season, Adam and Eddie said that Belle and Rumpel would have to fall in love all over again. At first, I thought they were referring to the fact that it had been 28 years since they had saw each other. But after the events of last week’s episode, their comments make a lot more sense. I think all Rumpel has to do is just find a way to make her fall in love with her again. Simple.
Yes, I agree. Of course it won’t be “simple.” Mr. Gold will have to find a way to make Belle fall in love with someone she doesn’t even know and has probably heard terrible things about. But judging by the producers’ comments, I think Belle will fall back in love with Rumpel by the end of the season.
I don’t mind there being a few bumps along the road, but having Belle and Rumpel hook up with other people would be a pretty big violation of the rules of true love. Yes, MM and David had separate love lives, but they were under a curse. And even though they both slept with other people, they never truly fell in love with those people. David was never truly in love with Kathryn (sure he loved her, but he was never in love with her.) And all MM could do was have a one night stand with Dr. Whale, but she herself admitted that it was a mistake. MM and David kept gravitating back to each other. They could barely stay away from each other. They knew they had something special, but they could never truly express it because of the curse. So having Belle legitimately fall for someone else would be ridiculous.
Exactly. Of course there should be drama and bumps along the road, but the writers need to be careful when it comes to tampering with its “true love” couples. If they mess with the concept too much, then it’ll no longer qualify as “true love.”
midnight drearyParticipantI voted “Gold will woo Belle and fall in love again.” 😉

midnight drearyParticipant^Um…no. I’m almost positive that Gold and Ruby didn’t have a “thing.” I think crack shippers are the only ones who see it. There hasn’t been anything hinting at the idea of Gold and Ruby having a fling.
midnight drearyParticipant^Either way, I don’t think it matters. Cora was in Wonderland after Belle “died” and his main focus was on the curse, so I don’t think he had any other romantic relationships after that.

I just thought on something: what if Cora impersonates Belle? I mean, I think Rumple is so heartbroken that he may believe it, even if just for some seconds, like the mermaid that pretended to be Snow, in “What Happened to Frederick”.
We can only hope. 🙁
