I agree. He finally saw a glimpse of remorse and regret from Mr. Gold. I think it’s the beginning of his redemption arc. The audience needs to see that he is at the very least, remorseful. The writers show us these kinds of Rumpel-centric episodes for a reason.

I agree with that but for Rumpelstiltskin his redemption isn’t just being remorseful and sorry, he actually has to conquer his fear and be brave.

As for the Kiss. I’m just saying that’s how beauty and the beast ended so it is possible for Rumpelstiltskin to perform an act of bravery that hurts him and be saved by True Loves kiss.

I agree. but Mr. Gold did attempt to overcome his fears. He gave August the dagger as sign of him finally giving up his power. He said “I chose power once, and now I’m choosing you.” So, Mr. Gold did finally overcome his cowaradice and lust for power. The dagger was his power, but he was willing to give it to his son.

^This. In that one moment, Mr. Gold finally chose his son over his power. The only problem is that Mr. Gold’s offering was all for nothing. August was fooling him, so we’re back at square one.

I think Baelfire could be dead. He went through the portal to a land without magic centuries before the curse took effect. Of course it could be argued that he travelled through time but it would be more tragic if he was dead. Just imagine, everything Rumpel has done from the moment Bae disappeared was to get Bae back. He got more power, he created a curse, for 28 years he’s been stuck in Storybrooke and still no Baelfire. He thought August was his son and he got his hopes up but it was not to be. Rumpel blamed the blue fairy for taking his son and didn’t like it when she told him that he drove Baelfire away. Rumpel has been fixated on getting Baelfire back but perhaps it is already too late. His cowardice has really cost Rumpel the things he loved most and he has laid the blame on other people (blue fairy for baelfire/Belle’s father for Belle) rather than himself. The only way Rumpel will become human again is if he learns to let go of Baelfire which means letting go of his power which is what Baelfire wanted in the first place, for Rumpel to become human again.

Hmm…maybe. But didn’t the Blue Fairy call the green portal a time hole or something? I think the writers are trying to tell us that Baelfire is still alive, we just don’t know where though.

And with all these new theories about Baelfire being Henry’s father, I’m convinced that not only is he alive, but will continue to play an improtant part in the overall story.

Ooo! Just wanted to come back and say that the producers have also stated that we may or may not already met Henry's father. That might be a clue as well. 😉 We've seen Baelfire twice now.

Loving all the Baelfire theories guys!

I’ve latched onto the “Baelfire is Henry’s Father” theory. Now, I’m going to be disappointed if he isn’t. 😆 In any case, I hope we get to see the young actor again. He was great. 😀

My first guess was August, and after tonight’s show I am not going to be surprised if Sydney is a casualty as well. Poor Sydney, I thought to myself, how blind can love get? Seriously, he won’t even save himself from her, or separate himself? It’s as if he is bound to her, and perhps he is because of the wish he used in FTL.

Of course, in this show, noone is dead until they are dead, so we will see.

I would like it if we could at least get to see what happens when someone leaves SB. Maybe Sydney will show us.

For the love of God, please let it be Sydney. 😆 That dude needs to go. He’s getting beyond pathetic.

And I also think August will suffer a more tragic death. The whole “turning back into wood” theory is becoming more and more plausible now. 😥

Aww! Don’t worry, you’re not being too fluffy. I’d love for all of this to happen. Even for Regina and Rumpel. I want everyone to have their happy ending. 😀

I really liked Baelfire. I loved how he tried so hard to save his father from evil. Very moral and sacrificial person. I hope we get to see more of him.

I really like him too. I also really like the actor. So far, next to Snow Flake, he’s been the best child actor on the show. No offense to our little Henry. 😀

I agree. And don’t ask me why, but I totally ship Baelfire with tiny Snow. 😆

    …don’t look at me. 😳

But Rumpel isn’t fighting against Regina. Right?

Hmm…it depends. He seems to strongly dislike Regina. Everytime he makes a deal with her, he ends up screwing her somehow. 😆 He probably sees her as a puppet. He keeps using her for his own purposes, and yet, she keeps coming back for more. He got her to cast the curse. He actually convinced her that he would help her with the whole Kathryn plan.

He’s also still pretty upset with her for convincing Belle to try to break his curse with true love’s kiss. He tried to send her away, but here comes Regina… 😆 Gotta love her though. 😉
