ParticipantI’m stil trying to figure out why Regina wanted to adopted a child. And why would she trust Mr. Gold to get it for her?

Yeah, but if it wasn’t for that scene, we would have never gotten our signature line: KISS MY BOOT!
Rumple can be as evil as he wants as long as he delivers awesome one liners π
I don’t trust that fairy either! I think she lied to Grumpy, there was no real danger of Nova and him getting together. Did you notice how the original dark ones skin is not sparkly? Neither is Rumple’s skin in the beginning. I’m thinking he got into a fight with the fairies over his son and thus somehow got fairy dust in his skin. :ugeek: I know it’s a long shot, but he has to hate fairies for some reason!
Did you actually just say that? OMG!!! THAT IS TOO HILARIOUS!!! π π π π π
And I agree, hjbau. The fairies are connected to Bae in some way. Even though I’m not particularly trusting of the fairies, I don’t think they would intentionally hurt Bae though. I think they may have tried to whisk him off to protect him from Rumpel. π

Participant^Hmm, very good point. π People only think Rumpel can see the future. However, the real answer to the question is that he’s probably “in the know.” He has numerous connections with various different kinds and leaders. So, he probably uses that to his advantage. And I agree that Rumpel being the creator of the curse gives him natural insight into how the curse will be broken.

Hmmm I wonder if your right midnight dreary and he just made up these stories. Then he could plan it out so in the end what he predicted would actually happenen. This would make him appear very powerful. We already know he is an expert planner with all these deals.
Good point. π Rumpel may not be able to see the future, but he’s an expert strategist and he’s able to recognize, in his own words, a “desperate soul.” He probably mapped out his plan years before the curse actually took effect.
Sweet Jesus, Regina. Why would you want to cast a curse that Rumpel made? WHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Yes, they did look rather intimate! It’s nice to see the sweet side of Rumple again! He planned on using the magic for good, I wonder what tainted that plan? Probably what ever made him loose his son also made him loose his humanity. The dark curse made him start to turn to a darker side right away. Remember what he did to those soldiers right in front of his little boy? They kinda did deverve it, forcing those childeren into war, but I hated watching him sink to their level….. KISS MY BOOT π
Yeah, but if it wasn’t for that scene, we would have never gotten our signature line: KISS MY BOOT! π π π
Whatever happened to Baelfire is probably what caused Rumpel to take the final step into the dark side. And I think fairies had something to do with it. I don’t trust those fairies. π I thought they were like the guardian angels of Fairytale land, but they can be pretty stubborn and ruthless sometimes. I hated that the Blue Fairy forced Grumpy to give up Nova. π₯
Isn’t the Blue Fairy supposed to be in the next episode? I think the fairies kidnapped Bae and took him to Neverland to keep him safe from Rumpel. I really think the Peter Pan theory will come to fruition.

Participant^Good point. π But I wonder why Snow would say that then? It would be pretty funny if Rumpel was putting out outrageous stories of himself just to make himself look more powerful than he actually was. π π π

Snow did say that. I think she is wrong. At least we have yet to see Rumpel actually SEE the future as in have visions and it seems evident that he doesn’t know everything about the future, so the only possibility is visions.
But he was able to see that only Snow and Charming’s baby could break the curse. He knew the exact date and time in which she would return too. Hmm, I guess we’ll have to see.

I agree- I absolutely think that was the plan all along- to make Regina look bad.
I agree. Mr. Gold knows how to look deep inside a person’s character and recognize their strengths and weaknesses. He clearly demonstrated that in “Desperate Souls” when he got Emma elected sheriff.

Yes–It’s too bad they didn’t have psychotherapy as an option back in FTL!
I would argue that Zoso hand-picked Rumpel to take over the Dark Curse when he was ready to give it up. Remember, Zoso posed as an old beggar on the road, and Rumple gave him some money and later food. To my eyes, those are demonstrations of a good and generous person (I mean, Rumpel). Zoso could have handed it off to any number of people who had enslaved himβI’m sure they would have loved that power for themselves, but he didn’t. Zoso picked someone who was reasonably good to begin with, who he thought could handle it, who could bring some balance to the Dark Curse β¦ Even when he was talking it over with Bae, Rumpel said something like : βBae, can you imagine me with that power? I could use it for good! I could save all the kids from the Ogre War, not just you, Bae. I could finally redeem myself.β His intentions were good, even if he didn’t quite know what he was getting into. Over the centuries, he’s made the best of a bad situation β¦ It could have been a lot worse. We could have Cora or Regina as The Dark One. Would you want to live in that world?
I just love those promo picks of The Return : The newly minted Dark One at home with his son, having a nice intimate dinner together. Againβmaking the best of a bad situation. And trying to be normal again.
So well said. I had actually forgotten about Rumpel, being a poor man himself, giving the Dark One money. He even brought him into his home and fed him. And I also remember his little mini speech about all the good he could do if he had the power of the Dark One. He had pure intentions. He wanted to save the rest of his village’s children from being taken away and slaughtered. That was his original reason for wanting to control the Dark One.
I also can’t wait to see Rumpel and Bae in the next episode. They looked so close and intimate in those episode stills. It makes me sad to think that maybe something bad happened to little Bae. π₯ π₯ π₯
