Ok, so after the viewing the promo for episode 1×19 “the Return,” I am beyond convinced that August is Rumpel's son. All of the Pinnoccio clues are probably red herrings.

I think Mr. Gold will have his happy ending towards the end of the series. The whole idea of breaking the curse is so that everyone can have their happy endings. But season 1 is way too soon.
