I don’t think the audience is going to have much sympathy for her anyway. Compare how Snow’s dead mother is talked about in contrast to Rumple’s first wife. Leopold talks about Snow’s mother with love and fondness and you get the sense that she was the love of his life and Regina is just the substitute mother for Snow. Rumple’s wife is barely mentioned and what little we do know about her is that she left Rumple because of his cowardice and she may have conceived Bae with another man whilst still married to Rumple. Perhaps the affair was ongoing whilst Rumple was away at the ogre wars and his return was rather inconvenient for her. I think it said in an interview somewhere that Rumple was going to have a hard time believing that Belle could actually love him so maybe that would relate back to his first wife.
That’s my thinking as well. Rumpel probably didn’t feel that anyone else could love him because his first wife left him for another man,
I think the bored housewife from the spoilers is going to be Rumpel’s first wife. The fact that both she and Rumpel are connected to Captain Hook’s storyline is a big clue. And on top of that, all three will be appearing the same Rumpel centric episode. I believe it’s episode 4.
Personally, I think Rumpel’s first wife ran off with Captain Hook and left little Bae behind. That’s why he was too afraid to answer Bae’s question about what happened to her. He was too ashamed to tell him that his mother ran off with another man. That’s the story the evil knight told in “Desperate Souls”. That Bae’s mother ran off with another man out of shame for her husband. And with all these new spoilers coming out, it sounds like he might have been right.
The fact that Captain Hook and possibly Neverland are connected to Rumpel’s storyline really makes me think that Bae is Peter Pan. Like, A LOT.
