I forgot about that episode. Good point. Just thought it would have been a crazy twist, since everyone keeps getting all intertwined.

This might be way off but my theory was that Helga was Snow’s mother. She ran away because she was in danger and eventually met Snow’s father and the rest is history.

It would explain why Emma looks like Helga AND nothing like her family. Plus it would also be part of the family tie in.
