No Robin Hood or Maid Marian? I was under the impression they (or at least Robin) would be appearing for the rest of the season?
Yeah I’m a bit surprised to not see them listed.
Not the least bit surprised, that they won’t be in this episode, nor expecting them for the rest of the season. Not surprised either, that people got a different impression.
So it’s now the threat of the big bang for Storybrooke. And what will it be for the season’s finale, end of all the worlds? Ah, well, just another imminent apocalypse, nothing to worry about. 😉 😈

ParticipantI wouldn’t mind, but I have a cool mom. Guess growing up in Germany has advantages, it’s not that much of a big deal here anyway. And JMo sure has nothing to hide.
For anyone interested in a few tips from JMo how to keep in shape, here a video interview she did for the magazine Shape in October 2012
http://www.shape.com/celebrities/interviews/how-actress-jennifer-morrison-stays-gorgeous
Great tip from her for geeks and particular TV series addicts how to motivate yourself (something I can very much support, doing the same thing for a while now). She doesn’t mention it in the vid, but besides running and Yoga read she’s doing boxing and strength training. Sounds like a good mix of cardio and muscle training.
Yep, Schmacky, noticed her arms too, in the pilot already 😉But besides looks. Think JMo herself is a good travel companion, smart, funny and from what she said, she seems to be someone to be able to enjoy company without talking all the time (something I as introvert very much appriciate).

ParticipantThere are some misconceptions about ECT (Electroconvulsive therapy), many probably still mostly having in mind what has been shown in the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, be it by having seen the movie or by rumours (they already did a nod to this movie with a Nurse Ratched look-alike as nurse and a Chief Broom look-alike mopping the floor in the basement fo the hospital), but that is not so important. My guess is what they do here on the show has as much to do with it as the taser Tamara used has to with a real taser – not much.
Why shouldn’t the taser work on Regina as well? All we know so far is, that it kills even a being that seem to have some strong magic like the Dragon. Would it serve Tamara’s agenda at the moment to kill Regina? If she is only a tad bit smart right now getting more information about Storybrooke and magic in Storybrooke should be of more interest to her, opening the door to the source of magic instead of gathering bits here and there (if that is something the taser does or some other tool she has or anything she has on her agenda). What Greg wants is quite obvious at the moment, he wants to know where is father is, what happens to him, killing Regina would not be any helpful.
So what might they be doing there with the “shock therapy” they seem to do in one of the upcoming episodes? Torture, extracting information, using Regina as test subject to see, what the machine could do to someone with powerful magic, extracting magic, rendering her temporary powerless (somewhat doubt it will last right away, if they do it, not sure if a magic-less Regina is yet a good story line).
Like the idea with bringing the Spellbook back into play. Whatever way.

ParticipantIt’s not like we have the original script to rely on. We have Tracy’s statement from an interview, what she read in the script (without knowing exact what was written there, who said it, was it a note), we have the show and the transcript of the show.
In the show it’s the statement from a girl, who had heard it from soldiers, what makes it for me hear-say and not a fact. That the Blue Fairy is “bigger than anything” (the most powerful being in all the realms) is a legend of the Enchanted Forest, saying little about if the Blue Fairy in fact, objectively is the most powerful. I am quite sure that many people would say, that the President of the United States is the most powerful person in the world. But as well you will find many people who would question such a statement. And there are limits to the power of the President.
Even if going with idea of the Blue Fairy being the most powerful of the (Fairy Tale) realms, that doesn’t imply that she is all-powerful. It doesn’t mean that she is able to always counteract or stop what others do, or that she can do everything what others do, besides that her code might prevent her from using every means to try. Most powerful is relative, and doesn’t say how much more powerful. The Blue Fairy still could have been the most powerful in the (magical) lands (mind that that statement was likely about the Enchanted Forest, Fairy Tale lands, or maybe magical realms and lands people there knew of, and it was made long before the Dark Curse), but Rumple (the Dark One) and later Cora and Regina coming pretty close to match her powers.

Sort of an odd title they gave it. Fighting for SB…by running away from it?
Makes me wonder too. Although think ABC promo for OUaT are not really known for being show experts or for sophisticated subtleties. 😈

ParticipantI wouldn’t take this animation literally, but that is my opinion. To me it looks more like an overview, summary, not something showing what will come but more presenting the idea of the show. An appetizer. There are good guys (Emma, Henry, Snow, Charming), bad guys, who of course attack the good ones, are after them (Rumple, Regina, Hook and a dragon, be that Maleficent or whoever). And the cloud is magic, more of a threat to the good guys than helping them. There is a castle, there are woods, there is a town with a clock tower. It’s a fairy tale show, with action, fun and heroes, and some famous characters (although Hook might be the only one people knowing nothing about OUaT recognize simply because of the hook)
Of course there still could be one or two hints in it.
I like the style, like a movable book, or pop up book. Maybe someone here remembers the beginning of the Disney movie “Enchanted? They should make one for OUaT, for real, to sell, limited version by a good artist – could be a hit as collectible.

ParticipantSchmacky: Think we have a different understanding of convention. 100-200 people coming together for one day in one place to discuss, exchange information, show fan-art, and as well have time to just hang out I wouldn’t call a meet-up. Even not if it’s just fans and no more or less prominent guests
Places, rooms to meet in whatever form in bigger groups always costs money, no doubt there. Agreed guests always at least should get travel and overnight stay paid. Don’t even expect cast and crew to do things for free. Advantage for Vancouver is, that there are some of crew and cast living there (no, not talking of those staying there while filming), that might help to start. On the other hand I think a satisfying and good convention not always needs stars – it can be about the fandom.
Yup, even a small convention costs money, although not all necessarily thousands of thousands. But it sure should have solid financial planning and find funding besides selling tickets. But to me it sounded like you were hinting to better leave organizing a convention no matter what size to professionals – and that is what I disagree about.
And I think that VancityFilming is no fool. Yes, it is a crazy idea, if you’ve never organized anything alike before, but right now it’s an idea and someone looking, if there is interest, people wanting to take the risk and the challenge to organize it. If there are people let them makes plans and see what it takes. If they decide it’s not doable, then there is no shame. If they make it happen than we all will applaud.
If it is not about meeting the big names but about the fandom itself, people sharing an interest and wanting to socialize beyond web and social media (some call that in real life, as if internet isn’t real at all), local meet-ups, non-recurring or recurring is something that could be of interest, more interest even. In Germany I think so called “Trekdinners” still are alive in some places (sort of regular’s table, recurring local meet-up, but they do organize talks and discussion to specific issues of Star Trek and beyond as well). If you want to do more than socialize but are satisfied to meet just fans take a look eventually at the concept of BarCamps.

ParticipantDisagree somewhat with you Schmacky. Conventions vary in size, from small ones, organized by fans for fans about one show (comic, game or whatever), often more regional orientated, up to huge professional cons, which are attracting people from all over the world and done by third party companies. Recent example for the first I know of was the RizzlesCon for Rizolli&Isles (American crime show), which took place in summer 2012 in LA, example for the later is the annually ComicCon in San Diego, or something like Fanexpo in Vancouver and in Toronto (not as huge and international as San Diego but big enough).
Of course we all dream of the big annual international fan meeting, but maybe start smaller.
Nevertheless in any case a good advice to have solid financial planning, venue, costs for guests (cast and crew or any other guests you have for panels or something), security if needed, catering, promotion and all the tiny stuff nobody thinks of at first. Could help to find someone with good financial skills and at best experience in fund raising (doubt it can be refinanced all by ticket sell). But it depends much on how big you want to plan, how big you can plan.
Nope, sorry, I am not that person with financial skills. Drawing only from my experience of organizing events at university here, and thankfully never had to do the financial stuff all on my own. Not to mention I’m from the other side of the Hemisphere, for me Vancouver is farther away than the real Enchanted Forest 😉
No idea what policy ABC has if it comes to fan organized conventions, and I’m not just talking about copyright issues. Might be in general good to have their support or at least acceptance.
All that said: Hope you can make it happen, it certainly would be great even if starting small. And if I in time find a way to move to Canada, best Vancouver, then I guess, would drop by.

ParticipantRegina is a threat wherever they would go. Even if they figure out a way to keep Regina in one world while they go to another, there is no guarantee that it will last. As long as Regina doesn’t change or die (yup, that is an option, just saying, not saying she should die) it doesn’t matter where they go, they might find temporary relief but no happy ending.
As others said before, some decisions are in the end made for one. It’s not like Emma could really sit down, ponder all possibilities and reason all day long, which place might be better for her and Henry and family to stay, and where they would like to stay regardless whatever threats or neccessities excist. Regina is a threat, there is still Hook who quite sure will cause more mayhem, there are Greg and Tamara, and who knows who else will cause trouble. Emma hardly can take a breath.
That Emma is torn about which place to live doesn’t mean to me, that she will have really much of a choice in the end. But it would have been strange if she wouldn’t be torn about it. She did not just live most of her life in our world, she grew up here, as unhappy as it was for her in the foster system. And I don’t think that all is already fine with her and her parents, that the bonding is all done and no doubts there anymore, so as much as she wants to be with them I’m not sure it is enough yet to give all up on our world.
In the Enchanted Forest Emma would be a princess, the next queen. Some might find that very tempting but it comes with expectations and responsibilities, being a person people look up at and expect to handle a lot for them, being in the spotlight most of the time. If you want to be any good sovereign you can’t sit back because you have a bad hair day or just feel like it, you care, you act, you have to function no matter what. It can be very satisfying, giving you purpose and meaning in life, and it can be at the same time a burden. It can be a scary thought. Remember how Emma wanted to run when things got more serious than she liked it? That Emma is not all gone.
Think that this burden of expectations is something Snow feels and wishes sometimes to get out of it: be just someone, a teacher at primeray school, having a loving husband, kids, some pets, a household to take care of … no politics, no worries about bigger things than the next Sunday lunch and how her grandson will look in the school play. Someone who can make mistakes without risking the lives of everybody in the kingdom.
The Enchanted Forest as it is now is a zone ravaged by the Dark Curse. It’s not just the Ogres, it looked to me like a rather baren land, food hard to find, everything pretty much in ruins, no nice bathrooms, no hot and not even cold running water, no hospital anywhere close by, no supermarkets. This would be no camping adventure vacation, going back to the Enchanted Forest means pretty much to start from scratch. Oh, wait, there is magic, they could use that to rebuild in no time … but something gives me the feeling, they won’t, they can’t even. As I see it magic draws from the resources that are and works with them, and when there is not much left it might be not that helpful either, not enough to rebuild in short time. I still suspect that the Dark Curse didn’t just take the people away, it might have exhausted the magical realms. It might come back, magic and all, but it will take time (H and K might have a different take on this though).
On the other hand here in this world magic might have no place. They are aliens to our world, freaks, a sensation at best. As long as magic exists in Storybrooke they might be at risk, there will always be someone tempted to exploit it for better or for worse.
If Neal is any factor for Emma’s thoughts about where to live then more speaks for our world. Guess Neal considers any place good where there is no magic, any place where his father would be his father and not the Dark One, not being able to us magic at all.
