ParticipantAnd we have a winner! Oscar for animtated short 😀
Director John Kahrs shortly after receiving the Oscar in an interview (highlights by me):
Question: I want to know, was this a very emotional short? And also, it has a lot of inspiration of old cartoons and all that, so where is your inspiration in your life to make you do this?
Answer: .Yeah. My inspiration for PAPERMAN is basically as a commuter, and it’s kind of chance connections you make with strangers and wonder who they are and, you know, I just had this idea of like a urban fairytale about people that were perfect for each other but lost their connection. But someone asked me, how is this short different than other Disney shorts, and I was tongue tied but now I realize it’s the same as all other Disney…I mean, it has magic in it, it has appealing characters, it has the plausible impossible; it has all those great things, so sure.

ParticipantHas been a while sinceI watched Fantaghiro, but yes, all parts of it, think even the fifth. And now start to remember such details like the talking Come-Back-Again-Stone or the siblings Bolt and Lightning or the Dark Witch having problems to cast evil spells no matter how hard she tries just because she did something good once, helping Fantaghiro (hilarious idea). Will go and see if I can find it somewhere to watch it again.

ParticipantLil’Red – hope the issue is fixed soon so you can change what you want to change.
In general: I’m with Nonnie and Gaultheria if it comes to banner size, but I know other people don’t mind as much. Maybe I wouldn’t either but a bit of moderation experience in forums and in webdesign and usability issues has given me a different view on such things. Smaller and let’s say low key banners keep the attention on what someone has to say in the their postings, it’s nicer for server bandwidth and we should always consider, that people have different kind of access to the web, huge banners and pictures make page loading time for a few still a pain.

ParticipantWelcome to the forums, Nod! 😀
The important thing is to enjoy it on here, as reader and maybe as poster. Everyone has something to add the discussions.

No one has to pick any fandom, Looking back at the pilot it were Lana Parilla’s portrait of Evil Queen as much as Emma played by Jennifer Morrison plus the soundtrack, which got me for the show. Yup, that moment with the guy was one, as was the moment when she got out of her shoes – so real life the latter. And then there were Rumplestiltskin, Snow, Red, Granny … It’s a great cast and crew and a bunch of interesting characters. I don’t watch the show just for one person.¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

What else?
The Storyteller from Jim Henson Studios too. Absolutely Fantastic
Fantaghiro aka Cave of the Golden Rose… Italian fairy tale, but there are english versions out there, invisibly voiced over. Talk about kick-ass princesses, Snow could get tips from Fantaghiro.Only recently stumbled upon the Storyteller. Funny thing because I was looking for work the score composer did, Rachel Portman. Indeed fantastic.
Fantaghiro – geee, totally have forgotten about that one.Nice to learn about some movies, shows haven’t seen yet, as well as be reminded of movies, shows I somewhat have forgotten about (what is not a judgement about their quality).

4. The flashbacks in this episode provide one of our favorite revisions of a classic fairy tale yet, perfectly melding the story we know from legend with the characters and history we know from OUAT.
……I thought K&H said no Peter Pan until next season. Then again, could be Beauty and the Beast, since we've all been guessing Hook is OUAT's Gaston. Attention to that point, this has me wondering about Hook's fate as well, by the ep's end. I doubt he'll be turned into a rose. Again Hook fans, you've been reminded that you are unappreciated, and are irrelevant.
classic fairy tale is here the keyword. Looking at the title of the episode actually think it’s quite simple the tale of Rumplestiltskin. To prepare an online text of the version of the Brothers Grimm
10. We thought “Manhattan” was Robert Carlyle’s best performance to date, but we might have to update that to “The Miller’s Daughter.” Lana Parrilla (Regina) also does a fantastic job. Heck, most of the main cast gets to show off some serious acting chops this week.
……Okay, so he's a great actor! So is Colin O'Donoghue! So is Jennifer Morrison! So is Gennifer Goodwin! The sweetness of the constant butt-kissing and over-attention to Robert Carlyle is wearing out it's welcome. It was nice, to watch the Rumbelle love story at first. It was sweet. Now, it's fermentation is getting moldy!Yes, others are good actors too, but what Robert Carlyle is showing is not just good, it’s brilliant, he’s in a class on his own. And until some award people notice and honor it I’m all for pointing it out again and again.
