I actually think some actors use pieces from their own wardrobe. JMo said 18-year-old Emma’s clothes were from her own closet.

Personally, I can’t decide whether I’m more of a SwanFire shipper or a SwanThief shipper.
I mean, if Neal turns out to be someone else, I wonder how many people would still ship Emma with Bae? EmmaxBaelfire has been a wildly popular idea since, well, The Return.
But NealxEmma is so awesome. Hopefully Neal is Bae and I won’t have to decide. 😉 Waiting with bated breath for every new male cast member they announce…which, apart from a few exceptions, have all been scruffy, 20/30-year old, brown-haired men. They must be doing it on purpose…
Just had a crazy thought about combining this with the imposter theory…
In the other thread for this episode, we see shots of Emma and Snow entering Gold’s shop, and there’s a whole debate about whether the clothes they’re wearing suggest that they’re really Hook and Cora.
It’s interesting to think about what Snow/Emma would want to talk to Gold about. Anyway – we can probably guess what Gold will bring up: he can’t leave Storybrooke. I suppose the timing might be awkward with the “threat” of Cora looming on the horizon, but Gold might call in his favor and ask Emma to leave and find his son.
But obviously he’s not going to ask her to track him by normal means. He’ll probably give her something of Bae’s and that potion that finds the owner of the item – just like he gave Charming.
Could that item be the cloak Smee’s holding?
But without the imposter theory….why else would Smee have Bae’s cloak? What are they (Hook, Smee, Cora) going to do with it? Did Smee steal it so that Cora could use the same tracking spell to find Bae first? To enchant him? To curse him?
Also another thought: Maybe that cloak is magical. Maybe it allows the wearer to shapeshift/shrink down/become invisible. 😛
It might not be Maurice…he’s a minor character, and this show is crowded enough as it is. Why not use the same (older) actor? Is it really necessary that they take the time and effort to higher a twenty-year old? So far, they have never hired an adult actor when they already had an adult actor. When multiple actors have been cast, it’s because they need a child (i.e. Bailey Medison for Snow White) or possible when they need an adult (maybe Michael Raymond-James for Bae).
Also, we’re assuming a lot about Belle’s backstory. If this is really a Belle-centric episode, maybe Gerhardt’s her brother who died in the ogre wars and taught her to be brave. Who knows?
I’m praying it’s before the winter break. I know that’s really near impossible, but. 😥
I shall continue to stalk him on Twitter, looking for any sign that he’s filming again. LOL.
That’s great! Neal is Aladdin. The stories are quite similar – but my gut feeling is that we’ll have another “Aladdin” retelling (with genie, wishes, etc.) later on. That would be one heck of a twist, though!
My feeling is that Neal’s life is not as simple as him being a reformed thief living in a tiny apartment in New York City. It would be a relief if it were that simple, but I think there’s a lot more to his life now.
It should make for an interesting reunion.
Oh, definitely interesting. Especially because Emma’s parents will probably have something to say about the whole situation, too. And they’re new at this parenting thing.
Forget the Neal-Emma reunion, I want to see Neal and Charming meet each other.
