Still mind-blown by that resemblance, though. Wow.
How much would it kill everyone if Neal comes back to Storybrooke, reunites with Henry, Emma, etc. but doesn’t say anything about his past. And the last scene of Season 2 is him watching Mr. Gold from a distance…
Haha. ๐ The uncertainty is killing me. And considering how well this show is doing…they could totally drag this out until Season 7. Oh my. ๐ฟ
[adrotate group="5"]naomiParticipant^Agreed. Whether or not he’s Bae, I’m dying to see him and Robert Carlyle exchange lines. I think their scenes together would be…incredible.
And I have to admit, the fact that MRJ tweets with impeccable grammar and punctuation just kills me. ๐ ^ I wonder if he knows his “ship” is SwanThief??
Also: I couldn’t resist. NOT MINE, these are from:
http://nerdalek.tumblr.com/post/35141475997I’m also curious about his filming schedule…I’m wondering if the filming he was doing in Vancouver during episodes 8 and 9 were actually that last scene with August at the end of Tallahassee. Or maybe he was filming a couple Neal-by-himself scenes for later episodes that don’t really coincide with the rest of what the cast is doing in Steveston.
naomiParticipantA long time ago, just after Season 1 ended, I thought that Bae would have become a soldier too. He seemed to have the heart for it. (shrug) That would be one crazy twist after all the Neal speculation. I guess we have to wait to see who they cast…about 1-2 more weeks and they should announce it.
I know we’re due for Belle’s backstory…but Rumple was in a war too. Maybe we’ll see how Rumple got his injury? His limp is still a huge, glaring mystery.
Another possibility: I know Gerhardt doesn’t sound like a name that would fit in Mulan’s story, but if we’re brainstorming about military men with families, then probably the most important one would be Mulan’s father, right?
naomiParticipantNot a hundred percent sure, but I think that visitor they were talking about is going to be a new character called Bennet or Barret, played by Ethan Embry.
But it could be Neal. Which could be interesting, becuase that means the curse led Emma to finding true love in a whole other non-magical realm.

Didn’t someone figure out that the area of town it looked like his apartment was in is famous for having connections to The Mob? (Don’t quote me, coz I don’t remember the details, but I’m sure I saw it mentioned somewhere.)
Yeah! ^Exactly what I was thinking of when I mentioned he might be involved in something “shady” that might prevent him from going to Storybrooke right away. Of course, he might just be indecisive about starting up a relationship with Emma again, but there also might be something keeping him from Storybrooke for a while (although I hope not!)
naomiParticipantInteresting. Reading this in the context of what K&H brought up about Neal’s life in New York…I wonder if it we’ll see a bit more of Neal outside Storybrooke.
^And, OMG!!! ๐ฎ TheGoldenKey – That’s a great point.
naomiParticipantYup, if Neal was originally from a magical world (whether he’s Bae or Peter Pan or the White Rabbit, whatever)…all August needed to show him was some remnant from that world. Then Neal would know, instantly, that August wasn’t just some crazy stalker who was raving about magic, and that he actually knew about other worlds.
Also, if Neal=Bae, if August showed him a picture if Rumple’s dagger, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Neal/Bae realized his father was in Storybrooke.(Now that I think about it, Neal might not even know about Storybrooke, ME – at least until he receives the postcard.)
I think August would have told Neal something about Emma’s parents being cursed, and that played a huge part in convincing him to let her go. I don’t have any proof of this, other than the fact August def. knew about Snow/Prince Charming, and that they were the “reason” for the curse in Regina’s eyes (to end their Happily Ever After.)
It would also be interesting if August learns who Neal is later. I agree that he could be acting under the Blue Fairy. After all, he said: “You have to do RIGHT by her. Now I’m going to tell you a story, and at the end of it you’re going to have to make a decision: will you do the RIGHT thing, or not?”
Blue: “There is good magic and dark magic, and I’m on the right side.”
Right and Wrong: that’s really her shtick, isn’t it? When the show has always showed us that there’s shades of gray.
naomiParticipantKitsis: There is an Easter egg in there, but itโs going to take a while for you to realize it. Then, when you go back, it may not be the bow and arrow that gave it away.
And notice the flame:
For Neal-is-NOT-Bae fans, I’m honestly curious: what do you think Kitsis was talking about?
And NO, the chest is not August’s box.
See?

What’s great about Once is that the writers/producers DO leave clues behind for people to interpret differently. ๐ Just because a theory is popular doesn’t mean it’s bad or good. Every good theory (annoying or not) is based on clues that people pick up on because they like thinking about how it would work on the show. For example, some people want Neal to be Bae because it offers symmetry to the curse. Some people want something less predictable. I don’t think people are purposefully trying to annoy – or that they should be laughed at if they’re wrong. They’re just trying to have fun!
naomiParticipantSwan Thief sounds good – and it fits with the rest of the shipping nomenclature on this show. LOL. (SwanFire, Swan Queen, MadSwan, Wooden Swan, etc.)
Also, can I take this moment to commend the tenacity of those in the fandom who continue to tag, tweet, and generally refer to NealxEmma as SwanFire, despite the writers attempts to keep us second-guessing? As a Neal-is-Bae fan myself I am very pleased with this confident attitude (although the writers might get annoyed and have it nip us in the butt later.). But for now, rock on, rockstars.
Also, does anyone know if there’s a name for Neal fans or is it still “Fire Squad”?

That’s a good point Hannah! Is it those going to EF or those COMING to SB. Hmmm. Cause that mean Cora and her army (including Hook) which makes sense why Rumple and Regina wouldn’t want those people coming through the portal. Except…what if the theory that Cora and Hook (? maybe Mulan) can transform themselves to look like MM and Emma is true, then they’d let them through even though it’s not really MM and Emma. EEK! This has got to be the final episode before Xmas.
I was thinking the same thing! “Kill anyone coming through the portal” – Why on earth would they let Snow and Emma through? I guess Emma owes Rumple a favor and Regina is trying to redeem herself: I think this is going to be a great scene wheres Regina and Rumple could take a huge risk for their “loved ones” (Rumple to find Baelfire, and Regina to please Henry). It would be awful ( but really dramatic) if they make the mistke of letting Hook and Cora through.
Furthermore, we know Hook and Cora do make it to Storybrooke. So what goes wrong? I can’t wait!
