“This would have been enough. You would have been enough.”
Well, I feel gutted after that episode.
naomiParticipantUh, no. The writing could be better. Better organized and consistent (meaning less plot holes). And I say that as a die hard fan.
I know we all love Once, and it’s one of my favorite shows on right now, but there are loads of Emmy-worthy dramas that are out there so saying that “everything else on TV is crap compared to OUAT” is just not true.
naomiParticipantAw, my fellow Dearies! You people are awesome. Here I was worrying myself into a fit in a corner.
(sigh) It seems like all I do is just whine and complain these days, but with Rumple and Cora possibly being lovers…um, why. Just why did it have to be that.
naomiParticipantYeah, it’s this inconsistency I think. All this starting and stopping ~ and introducing new characters and not following up with them. Even with the main cast – it feels like ages since we saw Ruby or Granny or Whale. Sure, it might have been 3 or 4 episodes ago, but it feels like a long time. I’ve been trying to convince people to watch the show, but for the casual viewer it’s pretty hard to follow mid-season.
It’s nearly impossible to compare the two, but take Game of Thrones. It has a super convoluted plot and more screen time (55 min vs. 40) but basically every main storyline is continued every week. I think that’s something the writers could do better, imho.
naomiParticipant^I was thinking that it would be interesting if Gold lost his powers too.
I think they want us to believe that Henry is the boy in the prophesy, and it is definitely looking that way right now. Henry wants to get his camera, so they go back to Neal’s apartment, Hook finds Rumple and stabs him, and maybe loses his powers or dagger as a result. So Henry –>(lots of stuff happens)–> Gold’s undoing.
But as some people have pointed out, and as Robert mentioned in an interview yesterday, Henry might not be the “boy”. It would be interesting if Gold believed that the prophesy was being fulfilled before his very eyes, but it actually wasn’t. It means there’s a further undoing for Rumple…and it boggles my mind to think what the writers have planned.
Spoilery for 2×18: I still think the child who is “not what he seems” is August. Maybe Baelfire dies saving child!Pinocchio or something and that causes Rumple to go mental. Hm. *is shot*Man, one week until the MIller’s Daughter, and I already feel bad for Snow. 😥 If she does something bad, I just know she’ll hate herself for a long time.

Something I just thought of though, unless Emma or Henry uses magic to heal Mr. Gold, they could trade Cora’s life for his with the candle. I didn’t notice it (will rewatch tomorrow!) But does Snow still have the candle? Read on here someone assumed she does.
That is brilliant!
Snow doesn’t have to crush the heart. Remember what Cora (as the Blue Fairy) said to her?
“You must hold the candle over the heart of your sacrifice…”But who keeps their heart in a box? Unless there’s a minor twist, the only person we know who is currently keeping their heart outside their body is Cora. I’m guessing Snow finds Cora’s heart, and trades her life for Gold’s.
Regardless of what happens, I wonder if Gold will think he's cheated death and the prophesy…or if he'll recover and still go after Henry. Which would…suck.
Of course, if Cora dies this way, then Regina will have even more reason to hate Snow. 😥
naomiParticipantWas it just me, or did anyone else find David’s reaction to finding the dagger quite worrisome?
“And now the Dark One can finally be controlled.”
Um. In that moment it didn’t sound like David was just going to hold onto the dagger for safekeeping. So much for that we-won’t-interfere-with-each-other pact. To me, it sounded like David would have used that dagger to keep a leash on Gold.
Just my opinion, but I kinda hope the dagger’s fake. It would suck if the result of Rumple trusting “family” is that he gets screwed over by Snowing leading his enemies directly to the dagger’s real hiding place.
naomiParticipantDidn’t see a promo tonight in Canada. Maybe they’ll post one later, but I doubt it.
