That is disturbing that they would consider changing something they’d already laid clues for. It’s like a mystery story where they switch the killer at the last second and then none of the story or clues make sense anymore. Really a bad idea, and not enjoyable for those following along. Glad they didn’t do that, but still scary that they considered it.
There really wasn’t anything about his apartment that said girlfriend. Even in this episode it looked like a bachelor pad with the only memento of a female being Emma’s dreamcatcher. Since Henry was told to hide in the bathroom, one would think he’d be old enough to notice a second toothbrush too. LOL
That really irked me too! I wonder how much fans’ opinions factor into the writing of the show? The reason I worry is because Neal has been getting a LOT of flak from some fans since Tallahassee, and I hope that doesn’t convince the writers to give him less screen time or kill him off based on those reactions. They should write the story how they planned to write it. And in my opinion, Baelfire is one of the best original characters on the show. (Although he’s probably going to be another FTL character too…)
Well, I guess we can expect a lot of disturbing things coming from Adam and Eddy in the upcoming weeks. If the theories are right, we’re potentially going to see at least three big shockers in the upcoming episodes (!!!!!*spoilers*): Tamara as Neal's fiancee, August turning back into a seven-year-old boy, and Cora and Rumple having some sort of love affair. 😕 I…I'm not really excited to see any of those things happen to be honest, but oh well. I'll keep watching of course.
Poor Emma. I just want her to be happy again. (mopes)
[adrotate group="5"]naomiParticipantI love the idea of Neal being able to sail Hook’s ship. Do they leave Hook behind though? Or is he tied up in the bottom?? 😀 I like the idea of him being tied up because then he can’t do anything stupid. Does Tamara join the merry crew? *and maybe fall overboard…*
Also, if they have the ship, then chances are they are going to explore what Cora and Hook have been hiding on the ship. Emma could find Cora’s heart!Ooh. You’re right…! Maybe they’ll find something on board.
Maybe Tamara will fall for Hook. *joins prayer circle* C’mon, Hook – don’t let me down. She’s a pretty girl, right? Use your charm for good, just this once. I BEG OF YOU.
naomiParticipant^^Haha, cookies! Stay strong, fellow Swanfire shippers. I’m proud of you guys resisting temptation.
Sadly, I think it’s too late for me. I’m already so far on the dark side that I see bats. 😆
(sigh) I just hope Neal and Emma don’t become the Ross and Rachel of Once Upon a Time, if you know what I mean. My heart wouldn’t be able to take 7 seasons of “will-they-won’t-they” drama. I’d just die.
naomiParticipantWoo, rant time. (Sorry).
Here’s my beef with this Tamara thing. (^I agree with posts above.)
Unless this show takes a daring leap into bigamy, this “Other Woman” conflict with Neal will have to be resolved somehow. But the dangerous thing about ALL love triangles in ALL TV shows or film is that you usually end up with a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t outcome. You’ll have fans rooting for one pairing or the other, and in the end some people are going to be upset.
If he ends up with Tamara: Then, admittedly, as a Swanfire shipper this breaks my heart. But more importantly, this means that in the end Emma paid a HUGE price for the curse to be broken. The ultimate price of Emma finding her parents again was that she actually lost the future she could have had with Neal and Henry in Tallahassee. Snow and Charming were reunited and got their lives “back on track” so to speak…but Neal and Emma couldn’t be fixed. This outcome just makes me feel bad for her…I dunno. I can’t describe it. Yes, I’m biased, but I think it would be quite tragic.
If Neal ends up with Emma: Then this doesn’t sit right with me either. Did he not love Tamara at all? Is he just going to break his promise to marry her? Why did he agree to marry someone if he wasn’t really in love with her in the first place? (Basically, all that annoyance with David sneaking around with MM and being untruthful to Kathryn will come rushing back. And seriously, if you ditch your fiancee for someone else there’s definitely going to be deception involved while ‘new feelings are developed’ or in this case, ‘rekindled’.) And I hated how the writers handled the Kathryn thing last year: after weeks of drama, she basically said ‘I’m OK with it now.’ It was just so…unrealistic. And Kathryn and David were in a fake marriage. Neal and Tamara obviously had/have real feelings for each other, which will make their break-up that more painful, I think.
So, basically. I hate love triangles. Involving any characters.
HATE THEM.
ETA: I’m really looking forward to the Emma/mama!Snow scenes, though. She’ll have to get through a LOT of emotional crap in the upcoming episodes.
naomiParticipantOh, I want more of them too!
Sadly, Dylan is growing like an inch-a-day at this point, so they better make more teen!Bae scenes FAST. 😛
naomiParticipantYou guys are so calm and sensible. 😆
To be honest, I’m trying to accept it as a ‘surprising plot twist’ but really this Tamara/Neal stuff is literally eating me from the inside slowly and painfully. lol. And sure, it may not be endgame and Neal loves Emma but still. It’ll be like David-Kathryn-MM all over again, and if Tamara’s presence causes Emma more angst I just don’t know if I can take it. That poor girl needs to catch a break.
naomiParticipantTrue, true.
I guess I just considered the whole “dealing” thing to be something that Rumple adopted after he broke that first deal with Bae. Kinda like he made deals in Bae’s memory, and when people broke them he would take away the thing they loved most/or something precious (so that they would suffer just like he suffered when he lost his son).

This thread, the Tallahassee Neal lovefest thread, and knowing there were other SwanFire fans to talk to is what made me want to start posting here! One other place where I talk with other fans is all about Hook and Emma and the other one is obsessed with Rumbelle (which is their prerogative of course) but I have a soft spot for Neal and Emma and have since their story was told in Tallahassee. I just love them together and totally agree that they are probably endgame, but of course their journey back to each other isn’t going to be easy. Why would these guys make anything easy for us?! They’re going to drive us all totally bonkers, LOL 😆
Fave Neal/Emma Moment from Manhattan: When they first meet in the alley and are surprised to see each other. I swear I’ve re-watched that scene more times than I care to admit and I crack up at Emma’s pouty thing when Neal walks away and at her comment, “HEY, I am the only one who gets to be angry right now!” every single time!
Oh, totally. I think this is the one place on the interweb where people can ship NealxEmma in relative peace.
naomiParticipantThe bit before the Nealfire and Henry scene is bothering me.
It’s the part where Emma tells Neal that Henry wants to talk to him. And he says something along the lines of, “Trust me, I won’t do to him what he did to me”. Then Emma replies, “And what you did to me?” Then Neal says: “All right we all messed up. Let’s try to avoid that with him shall we?” And then Emma gets this really worried look on her face.
Well….The crappy truth is that Emma did let Henry go. And she did so knowingly. Neal obviously doesn’t know about Henry’s adoption at this point…I wonder how he’ll react when he finds out?
naomiParticipantRegarding the Hook connection:
I love how we’re pretty much back to square one. 😆
Sure, we know Neal is Bae, and Bae is Neal. But who IS he really?
And while there’s a 99.999999% chance Neal’s “stopover” took place in Neverland (where he subsequently met Hook and stopped aging)…isn’t there an itsy-bitsy-tiny chance that it could’ve been Wonderland where they met? I’m just bringing that up because there were a bunch of playing cards (Clubs) stuck to the wall of his apartment next to the ominous number 13s. And remember the Cleaners & Hatters sign and all the heart paraphernalia?
credit to appleasredasblood.tumblr.comBut I kinda hope the writers don’t make Neal a realm jumper. Cause how they heck did Rumple (or Jefferson) not run into him at some point? Or maybe that is the point?
Oh well. One theory down. A million more to go!
