We know he is her true love because of Tinker Bell’s fairy dust. This is just a theory so only time will tell if it is true but I think a lot of clues point to their having known each other before and their memories are wiped out. When Regina returned to her castle and Henry was in New York she wanted to put herself under a sleeping curse because the pain was too great. If they knew each other before and someone came between them (can you say “Cora”) then I could see her wiping out her memories because the pain was too great…like Snow did when she thought Charming was marrying Kathryn.

I just remembered back when Rumple is arguing with the Blue Fairy after losing Baelfire to the portal…he asks if a “time turner” is a possible solution to get to the Land without Magic.

VERY interesting find, thanks for the info. Was reading some of the forum posts in that link and some gave me headaches…
You see, the person when balefiring himself ceases to exist before he even decides to balefire himself.
Therefore, he simply ceases to exist at some random time. If he had not ceased to exist, he would have decided to balefire himself. But he can’t decide to balefire himself unless he ceases to exist before it happens.
Some made more sense…
Take a string and hold a small flame up to one end of it. A piece of it gets burned off right? Well that’s balefire. It’s like putting a flame to the thread of a person’s life.
Now get a bigger flame and put it to one end of the string. More gets burned off, right? That’s the way it works. The stronger the weave for balefire, the farther back the person will be burned out of the pattern. It would take a very very very strong weave to burn someone entirely out of the pattern.
Then I got to posts where people started talking about the Dark One, so I googled to see and yes the Wheel Of Time has a Dark One as well as a thing called Baelfire, and that’s about the point where I decided this can’t be coincidence.
I didn’t watch “Lost” but I read there was an actual wheel in that show, which was a driving force in the plot.
I know what you mean about reading the thread as it made my eyes cross. I wonder if Zelena will cast her “Baelfire” “Second Chance” thingy and then somehow Baelfire will be able to reverse it by Baelfiring Zelena. It should be interesting. If we get more young Cora and young Eva it should be entertaining. I can’t help but remember Cora’s parting words to Eva as Eva was laying there “dead”…”I will destroy your legacy.”

I think it is King Xavier, Prince Henry’s father. When Cora met with him in his counting room she was going to rip out his heart, but she didn’t. I think she slept with King Xavier hoping to get pregnant by him and then use that pregnancy as leverage. Prince Henry was fifth in line for the throne. It would be a much faster trip to the top if she had a baby by the king.
