What about Hunchback? Isn’t the anniversary this year? I was thinking they’d do an episode in honor of that (called Outcasts….)
I guess Hunchback is still possible, but it’s not considered one of their biggest films, so it could go either way. I mean, yesterday was the 20th anniversary, and the only acknowledgement I saw from Disney was a simple tweet and FB post. Still, I guess the whole theme of “what makes a monster and what makes a man” could tie well into Regina/Evil Queen and Jekyll/Hyde, if they wanted to go that route. Plus, we did see a gypsy girl in the Land of Untold Stories.
I’ll be happy with either one if they are revealed to appear.
[adrotate group="5"]nickyhelpBlockedLily, Red, and Mulan might be secondary and tertiary characters, but Dopey is incredibly far below. Like maybe 6th tier.
Agreed. Even within the dwarves themselves, Dopey is quite low ranking.
Grumpy is obviously up top. He’s the main dwarf that’s featured and given lines.
Sneezy is in second mainly due to his season 1 screen time as Mr Clark. He is now the most recognisable after Grumpy.
Happy is in third. He is normally around when some of the dwarves are required for a scene. The other four dwarves are background dressing. Doc and Bashful have had a few lines here and there but Dopey and Sleep haven’t said anything, they’re just there.
Episode appearances
Grumpy- 38 plus that one episode of OUATIW
Sneezy- 27
Happy- 28
Sleepy-28
Doc- 30
Bashful-25
Dopey- 19As you can see, Dopey has considerably less screen time than the others. Also, whilst Doc and Sleepy may have been in more episodes than Sneezy, Sneezy’s scenes had more substance. Doc tends to be just there.
Doesn’t matter. Less screen time or not, it never means he is history in the show. And like I informed above: we know for a fact that he is still alive.
nickyhelpBlockedIt might also be like how (even though we didn’t see it) Sneezy got his memories back in season 3 and how Regina changed Sneezy back from stone in ep 2 of S5. What’s your excuse
Could they do that? Sure. Do I think they will? No.
And you really (really) need to stop this incredibly aggressive responses to people. You’ve been warned many times.
And what’s what’s that suppose to mean by you saying maybe 6th tier?
It means that in the broad scope of the narrative, Dopey has no important storylines and adds nothing to the actual plot lines except as canon fodder–ie: being one of the dwareves who is only there because the dwarves are always linked to Snow White, a first tier character with meaningful plot, storyline, and overall importance to the narrative.
First tier characters would be those that influence the show and without whom the story would falter drastically: Emma, Snow, Regina, Rumple, ect.
Secondary and Tertiary characters can exit the narrative for periods of time (long and short) and not impact the story a ton but can always easily be written back in because they’ve been given weight and narrative previously: Red, Mulan, Aurora, Whale, Grumpy, ect.
Characters below 2 and 3rd are those who have never influenced the narrative, never been given any sort of narrative weight or importance except to fill out a scene: nameless peasants, roles that do not speak, and those who simply stand in the background as part of the “town”
Well we know for a fact that he is still alive.
nickyhelpBlockedNo. There is a major difference. Dopey is a character who has never had a centric, never spoken, or never been given any sort of storyline outside of being “one of the dwarves.” Lily, Red and Mulan were all given those things (centrics, lines, plot) Dopey never had (even if it’s a shared centric, in that case). Lily, Red, and Mulan might be secondary and tertiary characters, but Dopey is incredibly far below. Like maybe 6th tier.
It doesn’t matter if he didn’t have a centric. Like the three, we might still have a moment and answer to what happens to people like him later on as usual. It might also be like how (even though we didn’t see it) Sneezy got his memories back in season 3 and how Regina changed Sneezy back from stone in ep 2 of S5. What’s your excuse? He may still return as a different actor no matter what. And what’s what’s that suppose to mean by you saying maybe 6th tier?
nickyhelpBlockedIt’s also suspicious that they left Dopey as a tree for the entire Season without freeing him.
Agreed. He’s a tree forever now I guess.
Says you.
nickyhelpBlockedWell, looks like Dopey won’t be coming back: https://twitter.com/JeffreyEKaiser/status/745663734002003968 So is he forever stuck as a tree?
Not unless they recast him like they did with Robin Hood and Gaston, which is very likely. Do you honestly think they would just leave him there as a tree? They didn’t on Sneezy. You forget? If they put more Bandit Snow White Flashbacks (which is very likely) involving the dwarfs, Dopey will no doubt be there as a different actor.
Yes. They pretty much ignored the fact that a tree is there when they left for NYC. In addition, the writers don’t care that their show no longer makes sense. This is just another instance.
with the new abc network president around, she would probably do something about this just like she did for Charming.
nickyhelpBlockedBut…but…he was my favorite dwarf!! I wanted him to have a storyline…I wanted him to speak!….. why…whyyy!!! It seems he chose to leave the show I wonder why. But then again, it wasn’t like they were doing much with him…. :/
Sneezy and Happy are my favourite dwarves but if Dopey leaves, how can it be the seven dwarves when there are only six of them or is Anton getting an upgrade?
Anton is more like Stealthy’s successor in a matter of speaking. After all he is like their adoptive brother.

Robin Hood and Gaston were both cases where the previous actors literally only appeared for one episode. They have yet to recast anybody who has been long recurring. It’s also suspicious that they left Dopey as a tree for the entire Season without freeing him. When Sneezy lost his memories, which I didn’t forget, he regained them by the end of the same Season. Same cannot be said for Dopey, who still remains a tree. Now could they recast him? Sure, but I’m not entirely counting on it either.
But just because Dopey didn’t change back in the finale, doesn’t mean he won’t change or won’t return in the next season. This is like how they left a climax for Lily when she was left to search for her father and we won’t be seeing it until probably this coming season. It is also like when we were wondering where Red was in season 4 until revealed for season 5, especially for Mulan.

Besides, it’s not really the seven dwarfs with out Dopey.
nickyhelpBlockedClearly you missed the key words “MAY BE” and “PROBABLY” aka it’s not definite or guaranteed but it could happen.
I already knew that. Why else would I be using these words in the first place? So clearly I have not missed any meanings of the key words, and that I am not so definate or guaranteed. You on the other hand make it sound like you were so definate or guaranteed when it’s not so.
